Fortnite remains a global gaming phenomenon, challenging to fully encapsulate its massive popularity even after five years. According to Epic's latest figures, the game saw a record-breaking 7.6 million players concurrently online on December 9, engaging in new versions like Lego Fortnite, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival.
This figure represents the highest number ever recorded for simultaneous players in a video game. Previously, Fortnite also held this record by achieving over 4 million concurrent players during the early November 2023 Fortnite OG event.
