The International 2019, also known as TI9, a major Dota 2 tournament this year will be held in Asia, specifically in Shanghai, China. The aim is to crown a new owner of the prestigious Aegis shield, with the prize pool currently nearing $27 million (approximately 621 billion VND).
Schedule for The International 2019
The International 2019 marks the culmination of the Dota Pro Circuit, serving as the 9th annual edition of The International. This year, the event makes its debut in China, hosted at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai. Following last year's format, a points-based system derived from Major performances selects and invites 12 teams to compete in The International 2019.
- The initial prize pool for the tournament is $1,600,000 USD.
- An additional 25% of the total Battle Pass sales revenue is added to the prize pool. These revenues encompass purchases of Battle Passes at various levels as well as points bought to level up the Battle Pass in the Dota 2 game.

+ 6 teams qualified through Regional Qualifiers: one team from China, Southeast Asia, North America, South America, CIS, and Europe respectively.
- Regional Qualifiers (July 7th to July 14th, 2019)
+ BO1 group stage leading to Playoffs
+ Double-elimination Playoffs, winners securing a spot at TI9
- TI9 Group Stage in Shanghai: Held from August 15th to August 18th, 2019
- Official Main Event: From August 20th to August 25th, 2019
