Samsung Display, a veteran supplier to Apple, will continue its pivotal role in manufacturing the OLED M12 display for the iPhone 15.
It's known that products currently using the M12 OLED display include the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the iPhone 14 Pro series.
According to information from TheElec, Samsung will fulfill M12 OLED display orders for the iPhone 15 lineup this year, encompassing even the more budget-friendly iPhone models. However, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will still be equipped with LTPS panels, offering a lower screen refresh rate compared to the iPhone 15 Pro series.

The iPhone 15 display is expected to showcase increased brightness while consuming less power, resulting in an extended battery life. Additionally, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will integrate LTPO technology, facilitating easy adjustment of the screen refresh rate dynamically.
Samsung is actively working on the next generation of OLED displays, the M13, expected to be featured in the Google Pixel Fold later this year. Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 will continue the legacy of the M12 OLED display from the Z Fold 4.
In the future, Samsung is rumored to be developing the M14 OLED display for the Apple iPhone 16. It is hopeful that by 2024, Apple will replace all current 60Hz displays with high-refresh-rate LTPO screens, addressing the lack of parity with their current pricing.
