As per 9to5Mac, despite the official release scheduled for 9/25, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus are already sold out on Apple's online retail page.
Users may line up on 9/25 to buy these premium smartphones, but it's not feasible due to minimal initial sales volume and overwhelming queues.
All versions of the iPhone 6s (in 4 colors: gray, silver, gold, and rose gold, with 3 storage capacities: 16, 64, and 128 GB) are sold out. Upon accessing the ordering page, users receive notices of delayed delivery within 1 - 2 weeks.
On the other hand, the iPhone 6 Plus version is even out of stock earlier. The delay for this model extends up to 3 - 4 weeks. In 2014, Apple sold 10 million iPhone 6 and 6 Plus units within the first week (technically 3 days over the weekend). Sharing on CNBC, Apple asserts they will break that record this year.
In a related move, Apple reveals that the iOS 9 update adoption rate has soared to 50%, the highest among all iOS versions to date. However, figures from external research firms hover around 33 - 37%.
Thus, it's evident that Apple is making significant strides in this launch with the iconic iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus models, alongside the indispensable iOS 9 operating system upgrade optimized to cater to users' needs. For existing iOS devices, they can upgrade to iOS 9 via OTA to experience the latest features that Apple brings to users.
