When visiting Nusa Penida, don't miss the chance to 'check in' at the impressive treehouses. From Toyapakeh port in Nusa Penida, follow the signs or map for a 28 km journey to the famous treehouse. The first 23 km offers smooth asphalt roads with beautiful seaside and mountain views, but the final 5 km is rough, narrow, with steep slopes, and potholes, so drive slowly and carefully. Upon arrival, park at the gate, pass through a small wooden ticket office, and pay 5,000 IDR for entrance.

The treehouses are located at the foot of the mountain, requiring a 10-15 minute walk up over 100 steep and tall steps. There are 3 treehouses, often fully booked well in advance. Inside, you'll find minimal furnishings - just a bed, a fan, and a balcony with a chair. To use the restroom, you'll need to climb down from the tree, but the view is breathtaking, offering a straight view of the sea.
For a romantic getaway or honeymoon, plan to book tickets and rooms at least 2 months in advance during the low season and 3-4 months in advance during the peak season (from June to August). Staying in a treehouse alleviates the need to climb stairs; your luggage will be carried for you. There are 3 treehouses available, priced at around 1 million VND per room.
There's a small restaurant serving drinks and some dishes like fried noodles, fried rice, and soup. You can dine in or have the server bring your order down, but make sure you bring enough water and snacks because each trip up and down the stairs is a challenge with over 100 steps.

The weather in Nusa Penida is sunny and hot. Bring sunscreen, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and if staying in a treehouse, don't forget mosquito repellent. If you can't book a room, you can still visit for a photoshoot with these 3 treehouses and the surrounding areas.
