The new synchronization feature utilizes QR codes to connect Opera versions on Windows, macOS, and Linux. Users no longer need to rely on entering their login information to synchronize. Opera users just need to open opera.com/connect on their PC to scan the QR code with the QR code reader integrated into Opera for Android. Although login information is not mandatory, the company still provides the option to link accounts.
Stefan Stjernelund, Product Director of Opera for Android, said: 'People don't sync their phones with PCs because they hate the hassle of entering long login information and passwords. In the latest Opera versions, we are simplifying everything: all they need to do to connect their devices is scan the QR code displayed in the computer's browser with their phone.'
Opera is also bringing 'Flow' to Android. If you're not familiar, Flow is the company's end-to-end encrypted feature, allowing users to share files, links, images, and notes with themselves. You can send files via Flow from your phone to PC by selecting 'Send to Flow' from the context menu. You can even upload files up to 10MB, which will be automatically deleted after 48 hours.
Also added in the new update is the new Suggested Sites feature on the homepage. Suggested Sites will list the websites you visit most frequently below Speed Dial. You also have the option to turn off Suggested Sites in the browser settings. Users wanting to experience the newly added features can update their browser to the latest version now.
