The Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) Vietnam team is putting in all efforts towards the goal of winning a medal at this year's SEA Games.
On May 13th, the first esports competitions of SEA Games 31 officially commenced. With the home advantage, esports teams are expected to bring home medals for the Vietnamese delegation.
Mobile Legends Bang Bang (MLBB) is one of the disciplines garnering considerable attention from local fans. On May 18th, the MLBB Vietnam team will begin their journey to 'hunt gold' at the National Convention Center.
At this Southeast Asian Games, the MLBB Vietnam team has gathered talents from three teams: Cyber Exe, NextPlay Esports, and Delicious Cake. With this team composition, MLBB will have the best players in each position. However, this approach also brings certain challenges to our team.
According to VIE GNART, due to age restrictions, many talents from MLBB Vietnam cannot participate. Therefore, the official team roster is composed of players from three teams:
“Our current team consists of members from various teams, leading to some issues like overlapping positions. However, we've adjusted and trained to improve in those areas. We've also trained with international teams to learn from their experiences in our roles and fully contribute to the team,” shared VIE DUCNAM.
Despite regularly training online and having only a week to focus before SEA Games 31, the team quickly integrated and received enthusiastic support from the organizers during training.
“Currently, we split our training into two sessions. The morning session focuses on individual skill training, while the afternoon session is team-based. We're fortunate to receive support from the organizers, facilitating training with semi-professional and professional teams locally and internationally,” shared VIE MIO.
“This is the first time we've met in person, and it's also my first experience with the training regimen of a professional player, so I find it quite exciting. The time in Hanoi has been enjoyable, living and bonding with fellow enthusiasts. We can dine out and engage in shared interests together,” added VIE DUCNAM.
At the SEA Games 30 held in the Philippines three years ago, the Vietnamese team missed the chance to win a medal after losing to the home team in the losing semifinal. Therefore, at this year's SEA Games, the MLBB Vietnam team is determined to maintain the medal on home turf.
The MLBB Vietnam team hopes fans will cheer wholeheartedly for the team's debut in a major tournament: “The entire team will strive for the top spot in the group and then aim for the championship to bring the best achievement for Vietnamese sports”.
With the ability to avoid a very strong opponent like the Philippines in the group stage, MLBB Vietnam has every reason to achieve a good performance at SEA Games 31. Let's look forward to the performance from our boys on May 18th.
