The emergence of Kang the Conqueror, a villain more fearsome than Thanos, in the new trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania promises epic battles, shattering the laws of physics.
After the era of the Infinity Stones, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is set to explore the multiverse in the future. Following preludes like 'Spider-Man: No Way Home' (2021) and 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness' (2022), the multiverse continues to unfold in 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania'. Alongside this, Kang the Conqueror makes a menacing appearance—a villain even more terrifying than Thanos.
'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' maintains its familiar humorous style as Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) shares his life journey from a skilled thief to an Avengers member. However, his streak of misfortune persists as he continues to work at an ice cream shop and is mistakenly associated with Spider-Man.
Trouble ensues when Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) invents a device acting as a satellite for the Quantum Realm. Little does she know that these signals activate a mysterious power, pulling her entire family—Cassie, Scott Lang, Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer)—into its grasp.

Unveiling the Quantum realm, it turns out to be a mysterious universe with its own ecosystem, featuring diverse flora, fauna, races, androids, and factions. Surprisingly, it's also the domain ruled by the villainous Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors). Details were subtly embedded in Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018), where fans could glimpse a small city concealed within the Quantum realm.
In the original comic, this place is known as Chronopolis - a citadel situated between reality and Kang's Limbo space. From here, he can traverse any moment in the time stream. In the MCU, the Quantum realm aids superheroes in time travel in 'Avengers: Endgame' (2019). Hence, it's where the antagonist gathers a colossal force to execute some nefarious scheme.

The trailer indicates that Scott Lang must confront not only Kang's modern army but also the monsters within the Quantum realm. Simultaneously, the enigmatic inhabitants here have their own calculations. The film promises to deliver battles beyond imagination, breaking the laws of physics.
Simultaneously, the movie sets the stage for the grandiose next battle of the Avengers in the new era.
'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' officially kicks off Phase 5 of the MCU. Scott Lang and Hope Van Dyne continue their adventures as Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Alongside Hope's parents, Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne, they embark on a journey into the Quantum realm, encountering new and exotic creatures, initiating a voyage beyond the limits of imagination. Jonathan Majors joins the film as Kang. Director Peyton Reed returns to helm with Kevin Feige and Stephen Broussard producing.
Get ready for the blockbuster 'Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania' hitting theaters on February 17, 2023.
