When one thinks of Da Lat, images of the picturesque Xuan Huong Lake or the romantic Valley of Love often come to mind. However, few are aware of a truly extraordinary wonder – the clay tunnels. Also known as the red clay tunnels or sculpted tunnels, this architectural masterpiece was built in 2010 and has now become a famous tourist spot in the “Little Paris of Vietnam.”

Travel Information
Set amidst the scenic landscapes of Tuyen Lam tourist area in Lam Dong province, the mud tunnel is a hidden gem in the heart of Da Lat city. To reach this enchanting destination from the city center, visitors just need to follow the route towards Trieu Viet Vuong – Thien Vien. Once you spot the signboard that says “Sculpture Tunnel,” continue for approximately 9km to arrive at this captivating spot.

The tourist site is open from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with the closing time subject to weather conditions. Admission prices are 40,000 VND for adults and 20,000 VND for children.
Mud Tunnel – Da Lat's Newest Marvel
As tourism in Da Lat continues to flourish, numerous new recreational areas have emerged. However, the mud tunnel stands out as a unique and captivating attraction, drawing many tourists to explore its wonders. The entire tourist site is meticulously constructed, with each corner reflecting the creativity and dedication of its creators. According to Mr. Trinh Ba Dung, the initiator of this tourism project, 'The entire complex is built around two main themes: the historical renaissance of Da Lat city and the creation of humanistic educational stories.'
For the historical renaissance theme, the tourist area is designed in two phases. The first phase traces back to ancient times with mystical legends extending until 1893 when Alexandre Yersin discovered the Langbiang plateau.

The subsequent phase showcases Yersin's discoveries and contributions to Da Lat. Numerous clay structures replicate famous tourist destinations such as the chicken church, Da Lat station, and the Pontifical Academy.

In addition to modeling famous landmarks, the creators ingeniously embed folk stories full of humanistic values into unique and unparalleled artworks. A notable example is the 'Three Monkeys' set, leaving a profound impression on visitors through both the intricate carvings and the meaningful message within: 'See no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil' - a philosophy of peaceful and virtuous living.
