The League of Legends community has calculated the dragon buff's value, revealing an unexpected gold equivalent.
League of Legends version 12.14 has hit the Vietnamese servers today. Most likely, you've overlooked the dragon changes at the bottom of the update notes. In version 12.14, the dragon buffs are unbelievably altered, especially for the weaker dragons and souls.
Subsequently, the global League of Legends community calculated the value of the dragon buff in gold, and they were utterly amazed by the wealth it brings. Teams will surely prioritize dragon objectives moving forward.
Specifically, Riot Games has modified the dragon buff as follows:
Basic dragon stats:
- Damage per hit based on % health: from 7% to 5%
- Health before elemental transformation: was (240 per level) now 3450 (380 per level)
- Health after elemental transformation: from 4350 (240 per level) to 6950 (380 per level)
Wind dragon buff benefits:
- Additional movement speed outside of combat: was 3.5%/7%/10.5%/14%, now 7%/14%/21%/28%
- Slow resistance: 7%/14%/21%/28%
- Value per stack = 560 gold per person, total for 1 dragon = 2800 gold
Hextech dragon buff benefits:
- Increase in ability haste: from 6/12/18/24 to 9/18/27/36
- Increase in attack speed: from 6%/12%/18%/24% to 9%/18%/27%/36%
- Value per stack = 465.03 gold per person, total for 1 dragon = 2325.15 gold
Fire dragon buff benefits:
- Increase in physical damage and magic power: from 4%/8%/12%/16% to 6%/12%/18%/24%
- Value per stack = 340.5 gold per person (at 100 attack power or magical power) and 681 gold per person (at 200 attack power or magical power)
- Benefits increase as player stats increase, making the fire dragon a future investment
Earth dragon buff benefits:
- Increase in armor and magic resist percentage: from 6%/12%/18%/24% to 9%/18%/27%/36%
- Stack value = 342 gold per person (at 100 Armor/Magic Resist), 684 gold per person (at 200 Armor/Magic Resist)
The value of the water dragon may not be quantifiable in simple stats, but its buff is among the strongest in the game, signifying its immense worth. Riot has significantly increased the power of individual dragon buffs to draw more early game attention towards them. Dragons now have higher health, requiring more time to defeat, but their damage output has been notably reduced. This change aims to accelerate game pace and emphasizes the need for players to prioritize major objectives early on, instead of focusing solely on the Rift Herald.
A quick glance reveals that dragon stats are now highly valuable, with buffs like those from the earth, fire, and water dragons enhancing as the game progresses. Adding all these stats up, any dragon buff now offers greater value than before, even surpassing the Rift Herald in strength. Thus, ranked players should prioritize early dragon objectives. However, be mindful of the lanes near the dragon pit, as dragons' increased health means they'll take longer to take down.
