Representatives from the Ministry of IT&C stated that TikTok will face strict actions if any violations are detected.
In the evening news on April 3, VTV addressed TikTok, the video platform with nearly 50 million Vietnamese users, increasingly featuring harmful content such as culturally insensitive short films, obscenity, misinformation, spreading superstitions, and content promoting criminal behavior...

The Ministry of Information and Communications announced that there will be a comprehensive inspection of TikTok in Vietnam.
Although exploding in Vietnam only 3 years ago, the country now ranks 6th in the top 10 nations with the largest TikTok user base globally, with around 49.9 million users. According to DataReportal's statistics as of February 2023, there are approximately 77.93 million Internet users in Vietnam. Thus, over 64% of Internet users in Vietnam are using TikTok.
'Unlike platforms like Facebook, YouTube, which are platforms where users actively seek information or only view content from followed pages, TikTok currently distributes content through an automatic algorithm that provides information to viewers. The danger lies in harmful content, and without timely prevention, it will continue to appear on users' feeds,' reported by VTV.
Representatives from the Ministry of IT&C stated that strict actions will be taken upon discovering any violations. The Ministry will also collaborate with relevant authorities to implement stronger and more decisive measures.
