One of the simplest ways to fake your IP on computers and laptops is by using VPN. When using VPN, your computer will connect to an external server before accessing the global Internet. 2. Using web proxy
Proxy is another way to fake your IP on computers and laptops. Proxy operates similarly to VPN but is often used on web browsers. Below are instructions on how to set up web proxy on some popular web browsers.
2.1. Setting up web proxy on Chrome
Step 1: Access the link to download Free Proxy List HERE.
Step 2: On the Free Proxy List page, copy the IP address and Port of any web proxy. Note: Choose a web proxy with Anonymity level as anonymous or elite proxy to ensure maximum confidentiality of your real IP address when using the web proxy.
Step 3: On the Chrome interface, click on the three dots at the top right corner of the screen, then select Install.
Step 4: Click on the System section, then select Open proxy settings on your computer.

2.2. Setting up web proxy on Firefox
Step 1: On the Firefox browser, click on the three horizontal lines icon at the top right corner of the screen, then select Manage additional settings.
Step 2: Enter the keyword network settings into the search box at the top corner of the screen, then click on Settings... in the search results below.
Step 3: Check the box next to Manual proxy configuration and enter the HTTP Proxy and Port details below.
Step 4: Next, check the box Use this proxy for all protocols then click Save.
2.3. Setting up web proxy on Edge
Step 1: On the Edge interface, click on the three dots at the top right corner, then select Install.
Step 2: Click on System and Performance, then select Open proxy settings on your computer.
Step 3: Turn on the switch under Use a proxy server, then input the web proxy address in the Address and Port fields below. Press Save to apply the changes.
3. Installing a browser proxy add-on
If you prefer not to manually set up a complex web proxy, you can install a browser proxy add-on to spoof your IP address on your computer or laptop while browsing. Note that your IP address will only be concealed if you access the Internet using a browser with the proxy add-on installed. Otherwise, third parties such as network providers or game publishers will see your real IP address.
3.1. Installing a proxy add-on on Chrome
Step 1: Visit the Google Chrome add-on page using the link HERE.
Step 2: Enter the keyword proxy into the search box.
Step 3: Select Windscribe - Free Proxy and Ad Blocker from the search results.
Step 4: Proceed to click Add to Chrome to install the proxy add-on.
Step 5: On the new small window that appears, click on Add Extension.
Step 6: Next, simply click on the Windscribe icon on the right side of the browser URL bar, create a free account, then click on the power button icon to activate this add-on.
3.2. Installing a proxy add-on on Firefox
Step 1: Go to the Firefox add-on page HERE.
Step 2: Type the keyword proxy into the search bar at the top corner of the Firefox browser, then press Enter.
Step 3: Select Hoxx VPN Proxy from the search results.
Step 4: Next, click on Add to Firefox.
Step 5: Click Add in the proxy add-on installation confirmation window.
Step 6: Click on the Hoxx VPN Proxy add-on icon at the top right corner of the screen, then click on Create an account and follow the instructions to create a free account. After that, you can use Hoxx VPN Proxy to browse the web without revealing your real IP address.
3.1. How to install proxy add-on on Edge
Step 1: Open the Microsoft Edge add-on download page HERE.
Step 2: Enter the proxy keyword in the search box on the right side of the Microsoft Edge browser.
Step 3: Click on the Download button next to the Free VPN for Edge - VPN Proxy VeePN add-on in the search results.
Step 4: Click on Add extension in the installation confirmation window.
Step 5: Click on the VPN Proxy VeePN icon on the right side of the browser URL bar, then click on the power button icon to enable browsing through the VeePN Proxy VPN proxy.
