Considered the most anticipated model among the 4 expected iPhone 12 variants set to be unveiled in September.
On July 27, the Weibo account named Digital Chat Station posted screenshots of the iPhone 12 5.4-inch screen, one of the 4 iPhone 12 models Apple is preparing to launch in September.
With a 5.4-inch screen, the iPhone 12 will have a very compact size. Rumors suggest it will be smaller than the iPhone SE 2020 despite having a larger screen size, attributed to the absence of a physical Home button and thinner screen bezels. The iPhone SE 2020, on the other hand, has thicker screen bezels and a physical Home button with Touch ID.

The iPhone 12 5.4-inch variant is deemed as an intriguing Apple creation. While many manufacturers focus on launching smartphones with larger displays, Apple remains committed to introducing iPhone models with compact dimensions and robust configurations to meet the needs of a specific user base. Notably, the iPhone 12 5.4-inch is even smaller than the iPhone SE 2020, just slightly larger than the iPhone 5s.
Similar to recent iPhone models, above the iPhone 12 display lies a notch housing the earpiece, sensors, and front camera.
According to Digital Chat Station, the size of this notch is comparable to that of the iPhone 11 or iPhone X. Due to the relatively small size of the iPhone 12 screen, the proportion of space allocated for sensors will be larger than in other iPhone models.
Furthermore, the iPhone 12 display bezels will be thinner than those of the iPhone 11, adopting a flat design instead of a curved one to align with the new squared-off design language of the iPhone 12.

The iPhone 12 5.4-inch variant will serve as the standard model with the smallest and most affordable display in the iPhone 12 lineup. According to Tom's Guide, the product may be priced at $649, while the iPhone 12 Max (6.1-inch), iPhone 12 Pro (6.1-inch), and iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7-inch) models will have prices ranging from $749 to $1,099.
All four iPhone 12 models are expected to feature OLED displays, 5G connectivity, and the A14 Bionic chip. The iPhone 12 Pro duo may utilize a 120Hz refresh rate display, similar to the iPad Pro's ProMotion. The 12 Pro Max, in particular, might include a LiDAR depth sensor alongside its triple rear camera setup, consisting of the main camera, telephoto camera, and ultra-wide-angle camera.
Earlier on July 24th, the Twitter account named iHacktu hinted that Apple might unveil the iPhone 12 on September 8th. Due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Apple could potentially postpone the iPhone 12 release to October or even November.
