According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Museum of War Evidence was voted as one of the top 5 out of 25 most attractive museums in Asia in 2013 by the TripAdvisor website.
The War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City was established on September 4, 1975. Every year, the museum welcomes and serves from 500,000 to 700,000 visitors, of which 60-70% are international tourists.

Since 2007, the War Remnants Museum has become a member of the International Council of Museums (ICOM).
As a specialized museum of social history, the War Remnants Museum carries out the tasks of researching, collecting, storing, displaying documents, images, artifacts... about the evidence and consequences of the wars of aggression against Vietnam by colonial and imperialist forces.
In addition, the museum regularly organizes exchange sessions between war witnesses and tourists, thereby helping tourists better understand the character of the Vietnamese people who are always confident and optimistic, even in times of intense warfare and hardship.
Every activity mentioned is conducted by the War Remnants Museum on a non-profit basis, contributing to the healing of war wounds and the preservation of peace in Vietnam and globally.
