Sukamuljo was introduced to badminton at the age of two and a half when he watched his father play in their backyard. Seeing his son's interest in badminton, his father sought a coach at Putra 46 Club to nurture his son's talent for a year. Nurtured in badminton from a young age, at the age of 11, he earned his first title.
Recognizing his talent, his parents encouraged him to join a larger club. He later received a scholarship from PB Djarum, but failed due to his small stature. Despite this setback, fueled by passion and encouragement from his family, he persevered, shifting to daily training instead of the usual four days a week routine. With increasing hours of training, he finally succeeded at PB Djarum in 2007.
After joining PB Djarum, he faced numerous failures. Initially, he competed in men's singles but later transitioned to doubles. After a year of training in doubles, he progressed significantly, surpassing expectations and garnering high hopes for the future.
