This information comes from a reliable source familiar with magnet manufacturers for tech products. While not confirmed by Apple at this time, previous hints suggest the company is exploring wireless charging technology for its devices.
Back in 2021, journalist Mark Gurman stated that Apple is considering using glass backs for the 2022 iPad Pro, allowing for wireless charging capability. Gurman specifically mentioned that Apple is testing the MagSafe system for iPad Pro. Although the 2022 iPad Pro models do not feature wireless charging, glass backs, or other notable design changes, it seems Apple has not abandoned this plan.
Therefore, many believe that the upcoming iPad Pro 11.1-inch and 13-inch models will feature premium OLED displays as well as MagSafe wireless charging technology.
Apple may be planning to integrate a glass back for the iPad Pro lineup next year, though this has yet to be confirmed. A glass back will make the iPad Pro more prone to damage when dropped, similar to iPhones, but it will also enable the use of new accessories and wireless charging pads. Let's stay tuned for more updates!
