With its characteristic hilly terrain, the slopes have long become a trademark of Da Lat. Many affectionately call Da Lat the 'city of slopes', alongside familiar names like the “city of thousand flowers” or “city of mist”.
Da Lat is indeed a city where every snapshot turns into a picturesque scene. Hence, even the slopes effortlessly transform into picture-perfect spots, inviting endless photo opportunities.
1. Persimmon Slope
The Most Famous Slope at Present Is Persimmon Slope

A Morning Flooded with Sunshine at Persimmon Slope
Persimmon Slope is situated on Hung Vuong Street, approximately 5km from the city center of Da Lat. You can easily locate Persimmon Slope on Google Maps. Once you reach the signboard of Phuoc Hue Pagoda, turn right and follow the concrete road. Avoid heading straight into the pagoda to save time.

Standing atop the slope offers a panoramic view of the city from afar
What I Love Most About This Slope Is the Rare Traffic, Making It Quite Safe. Most are patrons of Persimmon Cafe, parking their vehicles just above the slope. Even on weekends, it's quite deserted. On one side of the slope is a pine hill, while on the other is the cityscape, offering an incredibly wide view. This spot is perfect for watching the sunset.

Rows of pine trees line the slope from the top to the bottom
2. Cow Hill Slope
When it comes to a 'legendary slope' of Da Lat, none surpasses Cow Hill Slope. Despite four years passing since it gained fame from appearing in the movie 'Yellow Flowers on Green Grass,' this slope shows no signs of cooling down.

It's quite challenging to find a quiet moment amidst the constant flow of traffic
Cow Hill Slope is a shortcut that locals have opened up to reach Dinh III (Bao Dai Palace) from the city center. Steps have been added to facilitate movement and activities. Being centrally located and a major thoroughfare for locals, this slope is always bustling with people. There was a time when the influx of visitors to Cow Hill Slope for photo ops became hazardous for passing vehicles, prompting locals to put up 'No Photography' signs. However, all signs have now been taken down. When visiting for photo ops, please be mindful not to disrupt orderliness, avoid crowding in front of residential houses, and only stand on the steps, not on the slope where vehicles pass. Though this slope is only 500m long, it is steep. Vehicles need to gather momentum from afar and ascend quickly, so please be extremely cautious.

Remember to only take photos on the steps and avoid the slope to prevent obstructing traffic!
3. Tran Hung Dao Slope No. 7
Tran Hung Dao Slope No. 7 has been renowned for quite some time as it has been chosen as the filming location for many music videos. However, after its appearance in the film 'Em and Trinh' – particularly the segment featuring Trinh Cong Son and Michiko dancing and singing 'Randomly,' this slope has become even more captivating.

Tran Hung Dao Slope No. 7 and Nho Hoai Tailor Shop halfway up the slope.
From atop the slope, you'll be able to admire the romantic beauty of a part of Da Lat city from above, with houses nestled closely together, overlooking Xuan Huong Lake and even catching a glimpse of Da Lat University of Education.
Halfway up the slope sits Nho Hoai Tailor Shop, owned by two elderly gentlemen – a charming little wooden house. The tailor shop is still in operation, with the backyard now expanded to accommodate a small café for visitors to this slope to relax and enjoy.

From Tran Hung Dao Slope No. 7, you can admire the cityscape, the merging of the sky with mountains and hills.
If you visit during the cherry blossom season, this is definitely a spot you shouldn't miss.
4. 45 Le Dai Hanh Slope
Not as famous as the three slopes mentioned above, 45 Le Dai Hanh Slope is just a path leading to a small house up high, but it's a slope that I particularly adore. Just search for the correct address 45 Le Dai Hanh, and you'll find it. This slope is situated midway along Le Dai Hanh Street, slightly narrow and concealed by tall buildings on both sides.

45 Le Dai Hanh Slope is only about 100m away from the Chicken Church, so it's convenient to visit the Chicken Church and then walk down to check out this slope.

Every angle is charming

5. Yagout Slope 15
I stumbled upon this slope while strolling around after breakfast. Atop the slope sits a vintage-looking wooden house with a green door. Yagout Street is quite narrow, located in the city center, surrounded by a culinary paradise, with the most famous being Hoang Dieu Meatball Baguette.

A charming little slope that I unexpectedly discovered
Yagout Street is also one of the streets where Purple Phoenix flowers bloom most beautifully in March!

The slope and the quaint wooden house exude a vintage charm
Upon arriving in Da Lat, everything suddenly feels poetic and endearing. A wooden house tinted with the hues of time, a villa adorned with ancient moss, or even the winding alleys and slopes make this city truly special. Visit Da Lat and experience its fascinating wonders!
