Initially released on the Android platform in 2018, PUBG Mobile has received numerous updates and improvements over the past 2 years, but it has yet to reach version 1.0. This will change on September 9th. Tencent, the developer behind the mobile version of this popular survival shooter game, promises that the PUBG Mobile 1.0 update will introduce 'new technology, UX improvements, new gameplay features, and more to provide the most realistic tactical combat experience on mobile devices.'

Anticipated improvements include significant frame rate increases, reduced lag on devices, revamped main lobby, graphic and effects changes, as well as streamlined parachuting and skydiving.
According to the development team's press release, other enhancements in the update include improved lighting, more realistic shooting effects, enhanced character models and structures to 'deliver a more authentic feel and higher-quality experience.'
The latest update will be released ahead of the PUBG MOBILE Global Championship (PMGC), a new event combining PUBG MOBILE World League and World Championships. The first season of PMGC (dubbed Season Zero) will commence at the end of November, with professional teams from around the globe competing for a share of the $2 million prize pool. If possible, spectators will attend the event live, although organizers acknowledge that current circumstances may make this improbable. According to Esports Charts, the developer is no stranger to hosting online events, and the PUBG MOBILE World League 2020 emerged as this year's most prominent online event.
