What truly sets The Dark Pictures series apart is how your choices shape the story progression and determine the story's ending. All The Dark Pictures games feature multiple branching paths and are designed for replayability in both single-player and multiplayer modes.
In Shared Story mode, you and another friend play the game together, sharing the same story. Your characters sometimes stick together, sometimes separate, and sometimes find themselves in completely different locations, but both of your choices determine how the story unfolds.
Shared Story mode brings a whole different perspective to the game, unlike Solo Story. In Solo Story, you make all the decisions alone, but in Shared Story, you're adding another human element to the game. Not all choices are solely yours anymore, and what you and your companion decide to do depends on both of you... but both choices still contribute to the same story.
The Dark Pictures games always put you in morally challenging situations, and Little Hope certainly follows that pattern. Moral dilemmas are often embedded in life and death scenarios. There's no strictly good or bad choice, just the one that's less terrible. For example, in the game's trailer, you witness characters crossing a broken, crumbling bridge, their path leading them down to a cold, foreboding river, with something awaiting them in the dark depths below.

This brief scene perfectly illustrates some of the tough choices you'll have to make in Little Hope. In this scenario, do you choose to save Angela or John and face the consequences of either decision. Who will you save?
Currently, players can pre-order The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope, and the game will officially launch on October 30th.
