Recently, Isuna Hasekura's official website began streaming a video announcement regarding a new anime project based on his Spice & Wolf light novels. The announcement, made on the 15th anniversary of the series, leaves fans curious about the nature of the upcoming anime.

Set in medieval Europe, Spice & Wolf follows the journey of a young merchant named Kraft Lawrence who travels with a wolf deity named Holo, seeking her homeland of Yoitsu. Together, they embark on adventures while facing challenges from the Church.

Hasekura introduced the Spice and Wolf light novel series with illustrations by Ju Ayakura in 2006. After a hiatus following the 17th volume in 2011, the series resumed with the 18th volume in 2016.
