In a moment of wandering with an unnamed sorrow, I decided to step onto the 19th floor of the Pacific building on Ly Thuong Kiet Street. A place where The Rooftop bar resides.
In a melancholic moment, unsure where to go to shake off boredom, I wandered around Hanoi, aimlessly easing my sorrow. Suddenly, I remembered that my close friend was working at a bar on the 19th floor—why not give it a try there?
I've known about The Rooftop for about 2 years now, ever since my friend started working there. Today, I finally had the opportunity to go, not only to savor a refreshing cocktail but also to enjoy music and admire the panoramic view of Hanoi as night falls.
First Visit to Rooftop
The Rooftop is located on the 19th floor of the Pacific Place building on Ly Thuong Kiet Street, making it quite easy to find. I swiftly parked my car in the underground garage and took the elevator straight up to the 19th floor.

I was truly overwhelmed when looking at Hanoi at night from the 19th floor of The Rooftop. A small yet stunning Hanoi that left me astonished.
I personally chose a seat on the balcony to have a panoramic view of Hanoi and ordered a Caramel Martini to indulge in. This is one of the few sophisticated bars I know, more of a luxury bar than the energetic 'party' concept of today's youth.
The Rooftop continues to serve light drinks and food, but the music has a more mellow vibe compared to the dance floor. I observed many foreigners coming here not just to relax but also to enjoy the scenery.
Leaning against the protective glass on the balcony, everything appeared tiny beneath my feet. Vehicles and people moved gracefully like ants. The lights from the street lamps added an extra sparkle to Hanoi.

On that day, The Rooftop featured DJ Huy DX playing Deep House music; he is one of the main DJs here.
Closing my eyes to live slower
I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, letting each breeze carry away the worries of my day. Sipping on a cocktail brought by the server, the sweet fruity flavor blended with the spicy kick of the alcohol. Much like the taste of human life, a mix of sweetness and spice.
The lighting system installed on the balcony is exquisite, casting just the right amount of light without being too dazzling. The dominant color scheme includes deep tones like Bordeaux red, dark brown, and gold. The interplay of bright and dark patches is harmonious.

The Rooftop is one of the luxurious and expensive bars, boasting one of the most beautiful views of the Capital when admiring Hanoi at night.
Being a luxury bar, the prices here are relatively high compared to the general market, 125k for a cocktail. However, it is well worth it for such a beautiful space and courteous staff.
According to the staff here, about every two months, A-list singers like Dam Vinh Hung, Ho Ngoc Ha, Thanh Lam, etc., come to perform. Surely, in the future, I will return, especially during times when I need a place to relieve stress.
