1. Culinary Competition Presentation for Vietnamese Women's Day No. 1
Impressive Cooking Competition Presentation on October 20th
To participate in the Cooking Competition on October 20th organized by the Women's Union and Community ..., Trường THCS ... has chosen a theme titled: 'THE WOMAN I ADMIRE' for the following basic reasons: Firstly, today is the anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam Women's Union on October 20th, a day when we all have the opportunity to recognize and express gratitude for the silent contributions of women to society, praising and honoring the beauties that women have bestowed upon humanity. Secondly, all the selected dishes presented for competition by our school not only have nutritional value, but also contribute to depicting the traditional moral qualities of Vietnamese women that have been preserved and promoted throughout the ages.
Regarding the menu, our competition dishes consist of 3 main courses. With creatively coined names, these three dishes are all prepared from very familiar ingredients of the Mekong Delta region. Specifically as follows:
Ä The first dish is named THREE BEAUTIES: which is tofu stuffed with fried meat and tomato sauce served with lettuce dipped in soy sauce. It's called 'Three Beauties' because this dish has three distinct colors and carries a truly unique meaning:
- The red color (of the tomato) represents deep, profound affection, the unwavering loyalty of women to their family, husband, and children, forever unchanging.
- The dark brown color (of the fried tofu) signifies diligence, endurance, sacrificial spirit, enduring hardships, enduring all the trials and tribulations to provide for the family's well-being.
- The green color (of lettuce) symbolizes resilience, flexibility, always optimistic and optimistic about life, and a strong will to rise, never giving up or surrendering to fate. These are the enduring qualities that Vietnamese women have possessed for generations.
The second dish is called PEARL OF WATER: It refers to braised basa fish with coconut milk served with finely chopped raw mango. 'Pearl of Water' means 'fish in water.' The 'Fish' symbolizes women. The 'Water' refers to the environment, the circumstances in which that woman lives. In any era, women always need a living environment conducive to displaying their beauty, talent, and precious moral qualities. Today, our Party and State are still focusing on the environmental factor, advocating for the construction of a just, gender-equal society, helping women to have better conditions to participate in social activities, creating opportunities for women to assert their position.
The third dish is called HIDDEN GEM: It's a soup made from cabbage leaves rolled with minced meat, simmered with radishes, carrots, and turnips... to create a delicious and nutritious dish. The minced meat rolled in cabbage leaves is like a hidden gem in a flower. The flower branch represents women, while the gem here refers to the good moral qualities. Every Vietnamese woman has these gems. They are the traditional virtues and wonderful personalities of Vietnamese women from generations to generations, such as gentleness, loyalty, sacrifice, endurance, and kindness. It is our duty to create conditions for women to preserve, manifest, and fully develop these precious moral values, contributing to building a fairer and more beautiful society.
With a menu consisting of the 3 main dishes mentioned above served with rice, alternating with medicinal wine and watermelon for dessert, we hope to delight and satisfy our guests. The nutritious ingredients of the aforementioned dishes, in our opinion, meet the requirements at a moderate level, suitable for the budget set by the Organizing Committee. Essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals for the body are all provided adequately, such as:
- Protein (proteins): found in rice, pork, basa fish, tofu ...
- Lipid (fats): found in basa fish, cooking oil ...
- Various Vitamins: found in tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, raw vegetables, raw mangoes....
- Minerals: found in coconut water, spices ...
- Dietary fiber: found in cabbage, carrots, turnips, mangoes ...
With the spirit of participating in the competition to exchange knowledge, contributing to creating a lively and joyful atmosphere for the celebration of October 20th, we have also endeavored to present the dishes with meticulousness and seriousness. However, due to lack of culinary expertise, we will certainly not avoid certain shortcomings, hoping for the understanding of the Judges.
Wishing our Cooking Competition a great success.

Best Dish Presentation
The traditional role of women as homemakers has always been a shining aspect of Vietnamese culture. With that significance in mind, for today's cooking competition, our team has prepared the following dishes:
- First Dish: Pork sausage with pickled vegetables (Appetizer)
- Second Dish: Roast Chicken
- Third Dish: Breaded Fried Fish
- Fourth Dish: Curry Bread (main course)
- Last Dish: Susi Sticky Rice
From an overall perspective, our five culinary delights showcase the traditional favorites from the likes of chickens, pigs, and a plethora of fresh vegetables and fruits nurtured by our beloved homeland. These dishes capture the essence of the land, rivers, and streams.
Viewed through a medical lens, these five dishes boast exceptional nutritional value and remarkable healing properties. The combination of minced pork with pickled vegetables provides a substantial dose of nutrients, while the tangy flavor aids digestion.
The roast chicken dish provides an ideal protein intake, often prescribed by physicians as a vital recovery aid, enhancing immunity and vitality.
The breaded fried fish, golden and fragrant, exudes a subtle sweetness reminiscent of the vast rivers and waters, evoking a sense of serenity amidst the autumnal ambiance.
Next up is the curry sandwich, a nutritious fusion dish rich in proteins, fiber, and starch, often consumed as a staple in Western cuisine. Perhaps this culinary habit contributes to the robust physique of the peoples on the other side of the globe.
And finally, through the lens of culinary culture, we dare to name our dishes as follows:
Firstly, the appetizer: Minced pork with pickled vegetables, with thinly sliced pork delicately fragrant, combined with the sweet and sour taste of pickled vegetables, ignites the fighting spirit before the 'battle.' This dish, particularly charming during the initial chopstick encounters, encourages diners to engage in graceful conversation, hence named 'Spring Blossoms.'
Next are the golden-brown breaded fish, their fins and scales spread out, looking lively and captivating as if engaged in a majestic martial arts dance, challenging guests to embark on a 'new battle' to overcome obstacles and break through in the acceleration phase, aptly named 'Sweet Duel.'
Next up is the tender paradise, a label for the roasted chicken because it brings robust health, sharpens intellect, and ignites the springtime passion, 'bringing people closer together.'
The curry sandwich is a daily staple of European cuisine, known for its weight-gaining and energizing effects. At the feast, it helps you fight bravely alongside your wandering companions. Pouring 'concrete' with this dish, you won't have to worry about 'breaking halfway,' hence dubbed 'Soldier's Warmth.'
Finally, the Su Si sticky rice completes a joyful, youthful culinary cycle. Everyone is satisfied, with radiant faces glowing with joy, longing glances, and hearty laughter to better understand the profound lyrics of musician Nguyen Ngoc Thien's Ode to Love, affectionately called Nostalgic Farewell.
Wishing you a hearty appetite and wishing the competition great success!
