These are the 3 chess pieces with mechanics that can easily make gamers 'go straight into the ground' in TFT Set 6.
Ekko
Among the trio, Ekko is the most 'forgiving' as his skillset is quite versatile. Moreover, Ekko is never picked as a primary damage dealer but rather as a provider of as many crowd controls as possible through his slow effect. Particularly, among the 3-cost pieces, Ekko stands out as a fairly strong and flexible option, unlike Gangplank - the weakest 3-cost piece in Set 6.
However, Ekko also possesses skills that can sometimes 'squeeze' the team significantly. Specifically, when Ekko casts his skill, if the opponent moves afterward, there is a high probability that the skill will miss. Being a fragile Assassin with a high energy threshold (120), each miss can be even more detrimental as Ekko might not have a chance to cast a second time.
Zyra
Next up on the list is Zyra - a champion belonging to the Gangsters - Scholars group and will still be present in the upcoming Set 6.5. Zyra possesses a skill set that deals significant damage and crowd control horizontally. This is an incredibly useful ability, capable of turning the tide of battle at any moment. However, the prerequisite is that Zyra must land her hits on the intended target.
And this is where the issue arises, Zyra will target her opponent, and avoiding this champion's ability is quite straightforward: just have a team with enough damage to quickly take down the opponent, then continuous movement of the pieces will make Zyra's attacks very easy to evade. And sometimes, it's these incredibly 'unfortunate' missed strikes that cause players to lose health in the early stages of the game as well as a feeling of regret and frustration for losing the match.
Ziggs
And the 'final boss' on this list is none other than Ziggs - a 1-cost champion belonging to the Yordle tribe and will still be present in the upcoming Set 6.5. For those unfamiliar, Ziggs is renowned for his Hexplosive Minefield skill, which has often led players to experience defeat right from the first round of battling monsters throughout the history of TFT.
This champion costs 1 gold, and Ziggs' ability can also deal damage to multiple targets if thrown accurately. However, Ziggs cannot consistently achieve this. Similar to Zyra and Ekko as well as many other champions that have been removed upon transitioning to Set 6.5, Ziggs' ability targets the position of the target rather than the target itself. Therefore, as long as the opponent's pieces move away from their initial positions, Ziggs' ability is likely to miss.
Not to mention, Ziggs previously required a considerable amount of mana for a champion who is not often equipped with items (60), so it can be said that Ziggs is the riskiest champion to pick in the first shared draft round and also likely to cause the most frustration for players.
