Ingredients for making Singaporean chili crab
Steps to prepare Singaporean chili crab
Step 1: Preparing the crab
Place the crab in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes to let it 'sleep' before processing.
Turn the crab upside down, flip its apron underneath, and use a sharp knife to pierce straight into the cavity under the crab's belly.
Clean the crab, scrub it thoroughly with a brush to remove any impurities.
Separate the apron and the inner hair of the crab. Remove the crab's gills from the body and discard the crab lungs.
Cut the crab body into 4 pieces for easy consumption. Tenderize the crab claws to allow for better sauce absorption when cooking.
