Similar to the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus, the soon-to-be-launched iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will have a redesigned frame, making the devices 'easier to repair,' according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
This change could lead to the iPhone 15 Pro models having a glass back that can be detached. With the redesigned frame, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus became the first iPhones that can be opened from both the front and back since the iPhone 4S in 2011. Unfortunately, this change does not apply to the iPhone 14 Pro models, and these phones can still only be opened from the screen side.

The iPhone 15 Pro series will feature a removable glass back. The use of a removable rear glass may result in significantly lower repair costs for cracked rear glass on iPhone 15 Pro models without AppleCare+ coverage. Out-of-warranty repair costs for the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus with damaged rear glass range from $169 to $199, compared to $499 to $549 for the iPhone 14 Pro models.

Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 15 series in September. Gurman emphasizes that all devices will feature USB-C ports and Dynamic Island. He hopes the Pro models will have a titanium frame, slimmer screen bezels, a faster chip manufactured with TSMC's 3nm process, a customizable Action button, and more. He believes the price of the iPhone 15 Pro series may increase in some countries. Let's wait and see!
