WinZip is widely known as an application for compressing and decompressing files and folders. Two years ago, the app was featured on the Microsoft Store as a UWP app, but now it appears as a Win32 app.
The WinZip Win32 app is now available on Microsoft Store.
In addition to linking with cloud services like OneDrive, Google Drive, and Dropbox, WinZip also offers the option to regularly back up user files and data on cloud services or local storage.
Moreover, the application's multi-tab interface allows users to view multiple folders or drives simultaneously. According to the release notes, the application interface is optimized for tablets and touch devices. A minor drawback is that the Win32 application does not support the virtual assistant Cortana like the previous UWP application.
Lastly, WinZip is not entirely free software, providing users with a trial version for one month. Afterward, users will need to pay a fee of $49.99 per year to continue using it.
