Discovering the essence of Thủ Thiêm 4 bridge project.
According to an announcement by the Department of Transportation of Ho Chi Minh City, the city is beginning to focus on developing transportation infrastructure in the Thu Thiem New Urban Area. Among them are key roads connecting with districts 1, 4, 7, and further plans post relocation of the Saigon port.
Early investment in Thủ Thiêm 4 bridge crossing the Saigon River is imperative to kickstart the comprehensive development of transportation systems in the area. It not only facilitates the rapid development of the Thu Thiem New Urban Area but also drives growth in the new southern city area, contributing to the socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City.
Where is the whereabouts of player Thiêm 4?
The bridge crossing the Saigon River fosters connectivity between District 2 and District 7.
According to the design, the bridge spans approximately 2.1 km, with a static height of 10 meters, featuring a cable-stayed structure comprising a main section with 6 lanes. The branch leading to Huỳnh Tấn Phát Road on the District 7 side will accommodate 2 lanes. The connecting bridge on Nguyễn Văn Linh Street from the Nguyễn Văn Linh - Tân Thuận 2 Bridge interchange has a total length of about 1.5 km and is designed with 4 lanes.
As per the urban development plan for transportation in Ho Chi Minh City until 2020 and beyond, there will be a total of 5 bridges and 1 tunnel connecting the Thủ Thiêm Urban Area with various parts of the city. However, as of now, only two projects have been completed: Thủ Thiêm Bridge 1 and the Saigon River Tunnel. Thủ Thiêm Bridge 2 is currently under construction and is expected to be completed by 2018. Meanwhile, the Thủ Thiêm Bridge 4 project is slated for completion and usage by the end of 2019.
