Where is Thien An Pagoda located?
Thien An Pagoda is situated atop Thien An Mountain in Tinh An Commune, Son Tinh District, 3 km from the center of Quang Ngai City. This ancient pagoda boasts the most beautiful and unique architecture in Quang Ngai. Perched at an altitude of over 100m, it is accessible via a winding and steep road.

Thien An Pagoda was founded in 1716 and has been standing for over 300 years. Initially, it was just a small hermitage with few visitors. It wasn't until its renovation that more monks and devotees started to flock in. In 1717, Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu bestowed the plaque 'Sac Tu Thien An Tu.'
After enduring several natural disasters, the plaque suffered severe damage and was restored by Zen master Hoang Phuc in 1946. It was also during this time that the place was officially renovated into a temple by the end of 1965.

Another legend tells of the Buddha's well, where a head monk dug a well to meet daily needs. The monks were informed in a dream that to the east of the pagoda, there was a large rock when dug would reveal a water source. During the well digging, a young monk assisted. Indeed, after removing the rock, water gushed out vigorously, but when they looked for the young monk later, he was nowhere to be found.

However, it is said that when the bell was first cast, it remained silent. During meditation, the monk Bao An was visited by a Dharma Guardian in a dream.
