1. Things to know when using a clothes dryer
Clothes dryers are not a commonly used household appliance in Vietnam due to their relatively high cost and significant electricity expenses. Check out some useful tips for using a clothes dryer in the article below!
1. Load the Dryer with the Right Amount of Clothes
Wet clothes will increase drying time and consume more energy. Ensure your clothes are clean and wrung out before putting them in the dryer. To prevent wrinkles, shake out each item of clothing before drying.

Next, load an appropriate amount of clothes into the machine according to its capacity. Adding too few clothes will waste electricity, while too many clothes not only wastes energy but also causes wrinkles and uneven drying.

Note that every clothes dryer has a moisture sensor. Do not add more clothes to a running dryer as it will interfere with the sensor's accurate moisture detection, leaving your clothes either damp or overly dry.
2. Pay attention to the fabric material before putting it in the dryer
Each type of dryer has settings and drying times suitable for different fabric materials: denim, towels, and heavier fabrics require high heat; synthetic fabrics are suitable for medium heat, and low heat is recommended for delicate fabrics like soft woolens or lingerie. Therefore, before drying, separate your clothes for the dryer to operate optimally.

Be careful not to put clothes with metal details in the dryer. Check for any objects such as pins, needles, clips, or pens that may damage the machine if they fall out. Thin delicate fabrics like curtains, wool, silk, nylon, or large-sized items like blankets should not be dried. Specifically, cotton fabrics should only be air-dried, not exposed to high heat. Moreover, never put greasy clothes in the dryer as it may cause a fire hazard, which is unsafe.
3. Using scented sheets for clothes drying is a smart choice
Before drying clothes, insert scented sheets into the dryer with a quantity of 10-12 sets of clothes/sheet. This will make the clothes soft, fragrant, and reduce static electricity inside the clothes. It is also an effective way to eliminate long-standing odors and mold on clothes.

4. Some other important notes to know
There are some other small notes you should know when using a clothes dryer:
Throughout the drying process, the dryer door must always be tightly closed to limit opening it because hot air will be lost, prolonging the drying process.
Avoid drying for too long. High temperatures will cause fabric fibers to shrink due to excessive moisture loss, leading to wrinkles and energy wastage.
If you have spare time for ironing clothes, you should choose a shorter drying time to save electricity.

The lint filter should also be cleaned regularly to save drying time and energy.
Although clothes dryers are not as common, they are a worthy option on damp rainy days for busy individuals. With this article, it is hoped that you will gain more experience in choosing and using a clothes dryer most efficiently.
