At the start of the mural village project, the organizers had to seek persuasive approval from residents to paint on their house walls. However, towards the end of the program, many households were eager to participate and willingly joined with enthusiasm.
After numerous days of brainstorming ideas and carefully selecting artworks, artists and volunteers collaborated to embellish the charming small houses with vibrant colors on the tiny Ly Son Island.
Ly Son Island, also known as An Binh Island, earned its mural village name from there. Initially planning for just 10 mural paintings, the actual number escalated to an impressive 15, reflecting the project's success.
Volunteer artists devoted their utmost, driven by passion and love for the natural island seas, enduring hours under the harsh Central Vietnam sun to create these beautiful and vibrant murals.
IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) chose sea turtles as the central theme for the environmental conservation and marine preservation campaign this time.
Alongside this, there was enthusiastic collaboration from the An Binh commune People's Committee, the leadership of Ly Son Island district, especially the Ly Son Marine Conservation Area, which directly partnered with businesses to provide free paint, along with financial support from the US Fish and Wildlife Service's Sea Turtle Conservation Fund.
