Meta's social network, Threads, has been the hottest topic of the week and has sparked numerous discussions. The app was launched last week, creating waves across the global tech, social, and entertainment scenes.

Designed as a direct competitor to Twitter, which is currently in the hands of billionaire Elon Musk, Meta Threads has achieved impressive growth, reaching 30 million users in just 24 hours, 70 million in two days. And recently, Threads officially crossed the 100 million user mark in just 5 days after its launch.

Threads achieves the milestone of 100 million users in 5 days

When compared to other competitors, it took two months to reach 100 million users, while TikTok took 9 months and Instagram took 2.5 years. The rapid growth of Threads may be attributed to its integration with Instagram, allowing access to a massive user base of 1.6 billion accounts.

In response to Threads' impressive growth and escalating competition, Twitter fired back with a threatening letter, hinting at a potential lawsuit against Meta, Threads' parent company. The letter insinuated that Meta might have recruited former Twitter employees with access to sensitive trade secrets.

It is known that Meta describes Threads as Instagram's text chat app and is considered a replica of Twitter. Users will share their Instagram accounts, thus having access to existing lists of friends and followers.
