Tim Burton bluntly criticizes Disney for trying to unify their films together.
During the Lumière festival in France, director Tim Burton revealed his sole film project at the moment, Wednesday - a spin-off series of The Addams Family. Also at the press conference, Tim Burton candidly shares the reason why he no longer feels passionate about Disney and is gradually transitioning to collaborate with other film studios.

Specifically, he criticizes Disney for attempting to unify their films. He also asserts that the film studio is now only interested in Marvel, Star Wars, or Pixar franchises.
'Disney films are now too homogeneous, leaving little room for other film genres,' Tim Burton shares. 'I can only make films within one universe; I cannot 'deal with' a multiverse like that.'
Also at the press conference, the 64-year-old director admits he has been 'fired' by Disney multiple times. He even feels like 'Dumbo the elephant' having to work in a 'monstrous circus tent.'
After deciding to end collaboration with Disney, the producer of Nightmare Before Christmas has worked with various other film studios. However, he has never entertained the idea of embarking on an independent film project.
