For many, flying is an unforgettable experience due to its distinct procedures compared to buses or train stations. Security checks are stringent and precise.

Complete early self-check-in (check-in)

In the usual manner, when arriving at the airport, you're required to queue directly at the airline's check-in counter. However, to save time and reduce the hassle of queuing for passengers, Tan Son Nhat International Airport (TIA) has implemented online check-in procedures.

You can perform online check-in in three ways: complete the procedure on the airline's website and then print the boarding pass on paper; complete the procedure on the airline's website, receive the boarding pass in your email, and display it on your mobile phone or tablet (mobile check-in); complete the procedure through the kiosks located at the airport.

Currently, online check-in is applicable to passengers of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air. You just need a computer or mobile device with an internet connection, then access the airline's homepage, select the Online Check-in section, and fill in the required information.

For self-check-in at kiosks, TIA has 13 kiosks at the domestic terminal (8 machines for Vietnam Airlines located next to and on the left of gate D1; 5 machines for Vietjet Air opposite gate D3) and 3 kiosks at the international terminal for United Airlines.

When performing self-check-in at a kiosk, you can choose the appropriate language and fill in the required information. After completing the steps, the kiosk screen will once again display the information for the passenger to confirm and press finish to complete the check-in process. At this point, the machine will automatically print the boarding pass identical to the one issued at the check-in counter.

After completing online check-in, if you don't have checked baggage, you can use the boarding pass to go straight to the passenger security checkpoint without having to go to the check-in counter for confirmation. If you have checked baggage, you still need to be present at the check-in counter before the counter closes (it will close 40 minutes before departure). However, it only takes an additional 2-3 minutes to check in your baggage at the counter designated for passengers who have completed online check-in.

Explore Airport Amenities

With the convenience of online check-in, you can save at least 10-15 minutes compared to traditional procedures. This gives you time to indulge in the airport's amenities. Relax and enjoy a cup of coffee or explore the diverse dining options at the airport's restaurants. You can also choose unique regional souvenirs as gifts for your loved ones.

The check-in area, departure lounges, and arrival gates at TIA are designated non-smoking areas. If you have the need, you can use smoking rooms located at quarantine area gate 14 (Domestic) and quarantine areas gates 15 and 18 (International).

If you're flying business class, you'll naturally have access to the amenities and luxurious space of the Business Lounge. However, if you're flying economy or budget class, you can still purchase access to the business class lounge separately.

Note that you need to be at the boarding gate 15 minutes prior to embarkation for an exciting flight.
