Planning to take your family on a trip to Singapore and focusing on enjoying the attractions on Sentosa Island such as Universal Studios, S.E.A Aquarium? This article is for you!
Tips for a Memorable 3-Day Family Trip to Singapore with Young Kids
With a budget ranging from 8 to 10 million VND per person, you can embark on a fantastic journey to Singapore with your family, experiencing wonders like staying in a 5-star hotel, shopping, and exploring top destinations of the Lion City.
Getting to Singapore
Popular budget airlines flying from Vietnam to Singapore include Tiger Airways, Jetstar, Vietjet Air, Lion Air, offering direct flights from Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City to Singapore with ticket prices ranging from 2.5 to 3.5 million VND for a round-trip per person.
Pay attention to Changi Airport, which has 3 terminals and a subway station to the city center located only at Terminal 2. If you're flying with Jetstar or AirAsia, you'll land at Terminal 1 and need to take the free mini train to Terminal 2.
After clearing Singapore immigration at Terminal 1 of Changi Airport, turn left following the signs for Skytrain to T2 to catch the free train from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, as the subway station to the city center is located at Terminal 2.
At Terminal 2, follow the signs for the train to the city center, then take the escalator down and turn left. Walk straight for about 50 meters until you reach near the entrance of Terminal 3. There will be an escalator going down to the basement level – where the subway station is located.

From Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi, take a morning flight to Singapore arriving around noon. Singapore is one hour ahead of Vietnam, so upon arrival at the airport, adjust your watch to local time to avoid missing your return flight.
To purchase a subway card at the airport, head to the Passenger Service counter. Queue up to buy an EZ Link card for SGD 12 (approximately 195,000 VND), valid for 5 years, with an initial stored value of 7 SGD – about 115,000 VND.
You can top up your EZ Link card at the Passenger Service counter or the Ticket Machine next to the subway station. The lowest denomination the machine accepts is 10 SGD (approximately 165,000 VND). If you don't have exact change, you can exchange it at the counter.

Before entering the subway stations, you need to tap your card on one of the automatic ticket gates. When you hear the beep, the gate will open for you to pass through. When exiting the subway station, you'll also use the card to tap at the automatic ticket gate and exit.
To travel by subway from Changi Airport to downtown Singapore, you start from the MRT Changi Airport CG2 station to the MRT Tanah Merah EW4 station. Upon arrival, switch to the Joo Koon line. Then, depending on where you're staying in Singapore, you'll choose a stop or switch subway lines accordingly.

Suggested itinerary for exploring Singapore
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City – Merlion Park – Esplanade Theatre – Helix Bridge – Genting Hotel Jurong – S.E.A Aquarium
From Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi, take a morning flight and arrive in Singapore in the afternoon. Before checking in at Genting Hotel Jurong, you can take the subway to the city center to start your Singapore exploration journey with attractions along the Marina Bay.

The symbol of the city-state is the Merlion Park. The Merlion statue stands 8.6 meters tall, weighs 70 tons, with the body of a fish and the head of a lion, riding on waves, symbolizing the mythical creature closely associated with the formation of Singapore. Locals and tourists believe that posing with the statue and catching the water spouting from the Merlion's mouth brings luck and fortune.
Esplanade Theatre is located by the bay, designed to resemble a durian fruit. It's the grandest performing arts center on the island, with a capacity of over 2,000 people and a concert hall for 1,600 guests. Inside, there's a library, shopping center, and dining areas...
In the middle of the bay stands the Helix pedestrian bridge, the world's first double helix structure, resembling DNA, symbolizing prosperity.
For lunch, you can head to Makansutra Gluttons Bay food court at 8 Raffles Ave #01-15, Singapore 039802, just a few minutes' walk from Esplanade Theatre. This food court is a 100-meter-long stretch, featuring dozens of stalls selling traditional Singaporean dishes at affordable prices.
The most unique aspect of Makansutra Gluttons Bay food court is that instead of crowding in cramped, smelly food courts inside shopping malls, tourists get to enjoy food from outdoor stalls, reminiscent of the street food carts of the 1960s and 1970s all over Singapore. You can savor the dishes while enjoying the fresh air by the river.

In the afternoon, after checking in at the hotel, you can visit S.E.A Aquarium with over 100,000 marine species belonging to 800 species gathered in the largest artificial ocean in Southeast Asia. In the exhibition area, you'll be truly amazed by the 'giant tank' with the world's largest glass panel, measuring 36 meters wide and 8.3 meters high.

After the visit, you can enjoy dinner with your family at the Ocean Restaurant at S.E.A Aquarium, surrounded by swimming marine creatures. Or return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 2: Explore Sentosa Island – Universal Studios – watch the “Wings of Time” show
On the second day in Singapore, you can spend the entire day exploring Sentosa Island and Universal Studios. If you stay at Genting Hotel Jurong, the hotel provides free shuttle service to Resorts World Sentosa on Sentosa Island.

To experience all the attractions and entertainment at Universal Studios, you'll probably need at least 1 day. But if you spend 1 day at Sentosa, you'll definitely have no regrets.
Universal Studios was built with a budget of up to 4.4 billion USD. It's one of four Universal Studios theme parks worldwide and the latest version of the Universal Studios group with many exclusive features only found at Universal Studios.

Universal Studios features 24 rides and shows across 7 different themes, all related to blockbuster movies from Universal Studios. These 7 themed zones are arranged around a central lagoon. You can follow this order to save the most time: Hollywood Boulevard, New York, Sci-Fi City, Ancient Egypt, The Lost World, Far Far Away Castle, Madagascar.

In addition, there are countless fun activities at Sentosa to satisfy all your interests. If your family enjoys thrilling rides, you can try the Skyline Luge Sentosa, nature lovers can explore walking trails at the Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom, as well as learn about flora and fauna through guided tours like Sentosa Nature Discovery...
And when night falls, you can watch the water music performance combined with fireworks and special light effects in the 'Wings of Time' show.

As for dining while enjoying Sentosa, you don't have to worry because there are over 50 restaurants here ranging from budget to upscale, catering to every palate.
Especially, a highly popular dining spot for kids in Sentosa that you can consider is: Slappy Cakes, located at 26 Sentosa Gateway, 01-29, Singapore 098269 (right next to Universal Studios).
