I - Guide to Playing Elona Mobile:
1. Choosing Your Race and Class in Elona Mobile
The game starts with selecting your race and class. It's important to carefully consider and be patient when choosing your character's class and race. Mytour advises reading descriptions of each race and class in Elona Mobile to find a suitable choice for your playstyle, and you can always change later on. Currently, the game features 11 races and 15 different classes.
2. Exploring Beggar Cave (Player's Home in the Game)
Due to its complexity, the game provides some guidance on what you should do, so it's best to carefully read any instructions found to gain useful information.
Beggar Cave serves as your home, and you can customize it to your liking. Before stepping out, make sure to gather everything you find because you'll need plenty for the next leg of the journey.
3. Exploring North Tyris (World Map)
After leaving your home, you'll venture into North Tyris, with Vernis being the first starting point. Exercise caution when exploring the lands of North Tyris as they're not entirely safe to roam and sometimes pose challenges akin to a dungeon crawl. This is due to the unique weather changes and frequent ambushes by bandits, high-level monsters that often occur and cannot always be avoided.
4. Vernis - Your Initial Departure Point
Vernis stands as one of many unexplored locations where you'll need to gather intel, interact with NPCs, and discover what they offer. For the initial part of your journey, engaging with various NPCs is advisable to learn about them and what you can do here. Follow the main storyline and use red quest arrows as your guide. You'll find many NPCs in need of your help, and their tasks are relatively straightforward. The difficulty of quests depends on which NPCs you talk to and how far you've progressed.
5. Quests
You can identify when there's a quest to undertake by navigating the map located in the top right corner of the screen and looking for exclamation marks. A red mark means an NPC has a task for you, while a green one indicates a quest that can be initiated and completed by talking to the NPC giving the quest. Another way to spot them is by characters waving their hands with the exclamation mark above, which holds the same significance.
6. Forming Groups
You can assemble a team at the Bar or Home, consisting of individuals who will support you in battle and accompany you on your adventures. You can equip them, but they will automatically level up and increase their stats. If they die, you can revive them using the Scroll of Resurrection. It's best to stick to quests from the start and improve your skills as well as those of your companions before venturing further.
II - Tips for Playing Elona Mobile for Beginners
1. Completing Tasks
If you're short on gold, some NPCs may offer tasks that, when completed, reward you with gold, equipment, or resources. Talking to an NPC About Jobs will lead you to another room containing monsters. Here, you defeat the monsters and collect loot drops from them.
2. Completing Side Quests
Following the main storyline quests will take you further and help you understand exactly what's happening in the game. But if you want to grind to increase your power, completing side quests is the way to go.
Talk to NPCs in need or head to the Notice Board to complete side quests and receive rewards. You can choose to undertake multiple side quests simultaneously.
3. Exploring the Nefia Dungeon
The best way to earn EXP, gold, equipment, and level up skills simultaneously is to venture into the Nefia Dungeon and confront powerful monsters.
4. Bring Food Along When Exploring
In addition to your profile, you'll notice a Starving hunger stat. A low stat slows down the process of restoring your HP, MP, and SP. Therefore, the next tip Mytour wants to share with you is to bring along food. You can fill up your empty stomach and become healthier to continue your adventure. If you're planning a long journey, you should find a stable food source. Inns provide cheap food; however, if you're short on money or are a beginner, killing monsters can also drop meat, which can be cooked using any type of cooking stove or eaten raw. Remember that the larger your team, the more food you'll need to ensure everyone fights at their healthiest.
Cooking stations like Portable Cooking Tool, Pot, or Bonfire can cook meat, thus satisfying your hunger and boosting your stats more than eating raw. Remember that even cooked food spoils over time. So, a fridge, cooler, or anything to preserve food longer is advisable. Note that food will still spoil even when you're out of the game.
5. Ensure Adequate Rest
Fatigue is a part of the adventure. Always have a high-quality mattress, sleeping bag, or bed ready for rest. While sleeping, you may dream. Dreams can bring some good things like skill training, receiving lucky charms, and increasing abilities, or bad events like losing gold and experiencing unusual mutations.
6. Avoid Etherwind
Etherwind is a peculiar weather phenomenon where blue particles bring Ether Disease. It causes mutations in you, some visible and some not. Either way, you'll have to seek refuge in any nearby town by talking to the innkeeper, returning home, and sleeping while waiting or using a one-time-use Portable Shelter until it passes. There's no cure for Ether Disease. Mutations caused by it can only be cured by Potion of Cure Ether Disease or Potion of Cure Corruption, but note that they also remove 'good' mutations. Some equipment (or races like Elea) may slow down the spread of Ether Disease, but this doesn't mean you're less likely to mutate.
7. Skill Enhancement
You acquire skills by finding trainers at certain locations like Vernis and requesting them to impart some skills to you. You need to pay Platinum Coins to do so. Training Skills enhances your skill potential and using skills brings Special Training skill points to further upgrade your skill levels. Depending on the character class, some skills have different strengths and usage requirements.
8. Learning Magic
Each class and race has its own set of magic-related skills that you can learn by reading skill books. Learning a new skill means you'll need to invest time in upgrading your Literacy skill and experimenting multiple times before it's added to your Magic skill list. Each skill has its own requirements and different development paths, so be sure to check their descriptions.
9. Joining a Guild
There are a total of 3 guilds in the world, each with different joining requirements, as well as providing unique privileges and rewards: the Fighter guild in Port Kapul, the Mage guild in Lumiest, and the Thief guild in Derpy. The more you contribute to the guild, the more it grows, and you and your allies receive better buffs.
