Step 3: In the options interface, you'll find the 'Display' - 'Screen mode' section with options for 'Full screen' and 'Window' modes, tick the checkbox next to the 'Window' mode.
Step 4: Once you see the checkmark appear, click the 'Save' button at the bottom of the options window to confirm.
Step 5: Wait a moment for the game system to adjust the game. You'll notice Counter-Strike shrink the screen size in 'Window' mode.
Method 2: Utilize Windows' Calibrate Display Color
Step 1: Launch the game without rushing to log in. Press Alt+Tab on the keyboard to temporarily exit Counter-Strike to the Windows screen.
Step 2: On the Windows screen, open Start and type Calibrate Display Color, the system will automatically find this feature displayed as shown below. Click on Calibrate Display Color.
Step 3: The Calibrate feature opens as shown below, click Next.
Step 4: Continue clicking Next until the Adjust Gamma interface appears as shown below, use the mouse to drag the blue knob from the middle position down to touch the bottom bar and then click Next.
Step 5: Continue clicking Next until the interface appears as shown below, then click Finish.
Step 6: Calibrate will close and a new window will appear as shown below, continue clicking Next.
Step 7: Click Next until the window appears as shown below. Here, for some types of computer monitors, two options will appear, make sure the system checks the box with the text 'Change to Native Resolution 1920x1080' before clicking Next. If there are not many options like the window below, click Next as usual.
Step 8: Immediately after clicking Next, the system will switch from 1024x768 to 1920x1080 resolution and prompt you to confirm the change, select Yes to confirm the change.
Step 9: Continue clicking Next on the following displayed windows.
Step 10: Click Next until the window below appears, then click Finish.
So you've completed setting up the screen shrinkage for playing Counter-Strike, now reopen Counter-Strike by Alt-Tabbing back to the game window and admire the result.
Now you can easily multitask such as reading news, browsing Facebook while playing Counter-Strike. Remember, if you follow the second method, every time you exit and re-enter the game, you'll have to start over from the beginning, so consider carefully between the two methods. Additionally, refer to the guide on increasing FPS when playing Counter-Strike here. Wish you all happy gaming.
