Certain applications require users to run them with administrator privileges in order to function properly. Here's a small trick to help you with this issue.
Running Applications with Administrator Account on Windows 8.1
Step 1: From the Desktop or the Apps screen, right-click on the application you want to run and select 'Run as administrator' (See image below)
Step 2: To configure them to run by default, right-click on the application, then select 'Properties'. Next, navigate to the 'Compatibility' tab, check the box 'Run this program as an administrator', and click OK (See image below)
Now the application has been set to run by default with administrator privileges for future instances.
