The Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) has issued a notification that for seamless toll collection, vehicles must have a minimum balance equal to 50% of the longest stretch's toll, essentially the full-route fee. This minimum balance varies depending on the vehicle type and the specific expressway used.

Currently, Vietnam's BOT stations categorize vehicles into five groups for toll collection purposes.

Group 1: Vehicles under 12 seats; Vehicles with a load under 2 tons; Public buses.
Group 2: Vehicles from 12 to 30 seats; Vehicles with a load from 2 to under 4 tons.
Group 3: Vehicles with 31 seats or more; Vehicles from 4 to under 10 tons; Tractor units without trailers.
Group 4: Vehicles from 10 to under 18 tons; 20ft container trucks.
Group 5: Vehicles 18 tons and over; 40ft container trucks.

Minimum balance required in the account for entering 4 highways managed by VEC for Group 1 vehicles is:

Noi Bai - Lao Cai route: 150k
Cau Gie - Ninh Binh route: 35k
Da Nang - Quang Ngai route: 100k
TP HCM - Long Thanh - Dau Giay route: 40k
