Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part One
As usual, Tom Cruise will continue to personally execute daring action sequences in Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1, but this time, the actor will take everything to new heights. Most notably, the daring stunt where Tom Cruise rides a motorcycle at high speed across a mountain wall, jumps off the flying motorcycle, and parachutes to the ground.
As the behind-the-scenes footage reveals, Norway is the chosen location for filming. This significant challenge is something Tom Cruise has longed for, and it's a gift he wants to give to the audience. 'We've been preparing for years. I've wanted to do this since I was a kid.' He also personally planned the overall scheme because for this scene to be fully realized, the film crew will need to prepare a lot with the involvement of various experts.
Tom Cruise dedicated a year to basic and advanced skydiving training, honing and practicing every little aspect daily, from one time to another. “Tom Cruise is an extraordinary individual. He has the best spatial awareness I've ever encountered,” commented skydiving instructor Miles Daisher. The actor practically skydives 30 times a day, and by the time the official scene was filmed, he had skydived over 500 times in total.

In addition to skydiving, the preparation phase for the second crucial element in the scene began: Off-road motorcycle riding. “I have to be really good, so I don't make any mistakes in landing,” was the considerable pressure as Tom Cruise trained. The film crew had to redo the slope in England, in various models, different gradients, so Tom Cruise could practice accurately.
“We made models of slope samples to calculate Tom's flight path. We had to accurately predict where Tom would land in three-dimensional space,” shared director Christopher McQuarrie. Furthermore, calculating camera angles to capture the moment when Tom Cruise performs this daring stunt was also discussed and meticulously planned, tested many times. What's more, this scene was chosen to kick off the official filming day of Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1.

In Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1, besides the A-list star playing the unstoppable spy Ethan Hunt, there is also the return of impressive roles like Simon Pegg as tech wizard Benji Dunn, Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust, and Ving Rhames as hacker Luther Stickell - the only character to appear in every Mission: Impossible film besides Ethan, along with many other well-known actors.
Mission: Impossible Dead Reckoning Part 1 is scheduled to premiere in 2023.
