It portrays not only the migration but also the struggle for survival of these creatures amidst countless challenges.
The Dinosaur Migration targets young audiences. The film revolves around Scar, a herbivorous dinosaur migrating to the land that is now the United States. Meanwhile, Patch, a carnivorous dinosaur resembling a Velociraptor but smaller in size, remains determined to stay in its original habitat and learns to survive the winter in the Arctic.

The story revolves around Spotty, the youngest member of the dinosaur family. Spotty is a young Tarbosaurus. He is extremely curious and playful, living happily in the forest with his family and learning to hunt with his mother and siblings.
Tragedy strikes one day when One-Eye, an older Tyrannosaurus rex seeking a new home, attacks Spotty's herd and kills his entire family. Alone and on the run, Spotty coincidentally befriends another lost dinosaur, a Tarbosaur, who becomes his steadfast companion for two decades and also his family, the mother of his children. But Spotty's troubles with One-Eye are far from over, and vengeance, death, fear, and sorrow all lie in Spotty's future, as does happiness and hope.
