In 1989, right after the re-establishment of Quang Tri province, the Department of Education and Training decided to establish a specialized system under Dong Ha High School. In April 1994, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 674/QD-UBND to merge the specialized system of Dong Ha High School with the grade 2 specialized block of the province, forming Le Quy Don Specialized High School with the mission of discovering, training, and nurturing talents for the homeland and the country. 2. Quang Tri Town High School

Quang Tri Town High School, formerly known as Trieu Phong High School, was established by the People's Committee of Quang Tri province immediately after the complete liberation of the South on August 16, 1975. Throughout its history, undergoing several name changes, from 1989 to the present, the school is officially named Quang Tri Town High School.
