To get there from District 1, take the Thu Thiem Tunnel to the Mai Chi Tho - Tran Van Khe intersection, then turn left and continue for another 200m to the junction with Luong Dinh Cua Street. The area offers a vast space with strong winds, free from obstructions by trees and high-rise buildings, attracting hundreds of locals for kite flying from 3pm to 6pm daily. Kite selling services are also available, making it easy to purchase kites on-site. However, caution is advised as this area experiences heavy traffic.

2. Diamond Island Area, District 2
Located a short distance from the Thủ Thiêm bridge towards the Cát Lái ferry, this spot in Ho Chi Minh City is another preferred kite flying venue known for its safety and airy space. Diamond Island, with its poetic name, sits along the riverbank near the District 2 People's Committee. The area is favored for its strong breezes and the beautiful scenery of waving reed fields, making it a fascinating location for groups of active youths and families with children. It's also an ideal spot for those who love taking dreamy, Instagram-worthy photos, thanks to its picturesque and romantic setting.

3. Phú Mỹ Hưng Kite Flying Spot
Phú Mỹ Hưng Urban Area, along Nguyễn Văn Linh Street, District 7, HCMC, becomes a vibrant scene from 4 to 6 PM as hundreds of people of all ages converge on open fields to indulge in kite flying. The sky is adorned with hundreds of brightly colored kites of various shapes and designs, ranging from sharks, lions, phoenixes, mermaids, butterflies, crocodiles, to superheroes like Batman. These kites, available for purchase and flying, fill the skies over the open grounds along Nguyễn Văn Linh Street (District 7). The area's vast, unobstructed space, strong winds, and particularly the lack of traffic and buildings make it a perfect kite-flying haven.

4. Te Canal Bridge Kite Flying Area
At the base of Te Canal Bridge, District 7, Ho Chi Minh City, every afternoon, hundreds gather in the outskirts' kite fields near Te Canal Bridge, District 7, just 3km from the city center, to fly kites. This hobby captivates not just the youth but also the elderly, educators, doctors, and students, serving as a way to revisit childhood and release all fatigue after a hard day's work. In Saigon's evening, as the sunlight lingers and the breeze begins to blow, thousands flock to open areas to release and admire kites fluttering in the sky. This spot promises to be a perfect destination, especially for those of a romantic disposition.


5. District 12 Kite Flying Area
At the crossroads of National Highway 1A and Highway 22 in District 12, HCMC, this 66-hectare open space is ideal for kite enthusiasts with its vast area, strong winds, and unobstructed skies. Every afternoon, the sky fills with colorful kites, including giant animal-shaped ones crafted by artisans from the District 12 Kite Club. The area becomes bustling around 4-5 PM. However, food and drink services are scarce, so it's advisable to bring snacks and water, along with a mat for resting.

6. Kite Flying Field at Ngã Tư Giếng Nước – Hóc Môn
Located about 5km from An Sương intersection towards Củ Chi in Ho Chi Minh City, the kite flying field at Ngã Tư Giếng Nước in Hóc Môn District draws large crowds daily. Post-harvest, the wide and dry fields coupled with the abundant wind make it an exciting and safe place for kite flying, especially for children. Spanning 300 meters wide and nearly 1km long, aligned with the wind direction, it's an ideal spot for thousands of colorful kites to decorate the blue sky. It's not just kids; adults and the elderly in Ho Chi Minh City also indulge in this elegant hobby, with weekends seeing up to thousands of participants.

7. Kite Flying Along Nhiêu Lộc Canal
Following its upgrade, the Nhiêu Lộc Canal area stretching from District 3 to Tân Bình has become a perfect spot for evening strolls and exercise. With the arrival of the windy season, the sky is dotted with vibrant tetrahedral kites. Unknowingly, this place has turned into a serene escape where kids and adults alike gather to fly kites, enjoying the simple pleasure and unwinding after a long day. However, be mindful of the occasional unpleasant odor during low tide.


8. Bình Chánh Kite Field
For those near Chợ Lớn or the District 8 bus station seeking the tranquil pleasure of kite flying without travelling far, Bình Chánh district offers a longstanding kite flying field in its outskirts. Starting from District 5, crossing the Nhị Thiên Đường bridge, and following National Highway 50 past Tạ Quang Bửu intersection for about 500m, a right turn at street number 10 and a left at street number 13 will lead you to a windy kite field next to the Bà Lớn canal. By around 4 PM on weekends, kite enthusiasts gather here with their vibrant and variously sized kites, making it a popular spot for testing out large kites.

9. Rock Lake Kite Flying Area – National University Village – Thủ Đức
This kite flying spot is a popular hangout for university students from the surrounding educational institutions and some locals. Its open spaces and strong winds not only lift kites into the air but have also been the backdrop for many student romances in Ho Chi Minh City. Rock Lake in the Thủ Đức University Village (Thủ Đức District) offers an ideal setting for kite flying with its beautiful scenery, wide skies, and constant breeze. However, due to its secluded location, it's advisable not to fly kites into the late evening for safety reasons. Beyond kite flying, the area serves as a spot for eating and leisure, with roadside stalls offering snacks and desserts. For group visits, consider bringing light snacks and water, along with a mat for resting if needed.


10. Gò Vấp Kite Field
At the end of Nguyễn Văn Lượng Street towards An Phú Đông in Gò Vấp District, you'll discover a spacious area devoid of tall buildings and abundant in open space, making it perfect for kite flying. By 4 PM, this plot transforms into a fitness spot for the local community and a haven for kite enthusiasts of all ages. The Gò Vấp field attracts kite flyers from all over Saigon with its collection of kites big and small. Daily, especially on weekends, hundreds of visitors come to enjoy and admire the scene. Additionally, the field is a hotspot for professional kite flying clubs from across Saigon, offering many a chance to capture beautiful moments of kites soaring high in the sky.
