1. Oh Quang Ngai
I return to Quang Ngai to visit you
The old ferry dock where you used to wait
Oh Tra River, as I cross the bridge to you
Visiting you with relatives, parents, and teachers
Visiting the days when I was absent
Visiting Tra River where our love once flourished
Do you remember? We are not far apart
Though far and wide, that place is not distant
Visiting the homeland, visiting the city by the Tra River
Visiting all the places in Son Ha awaiting
Today, oh, the sky is vast and high
Green as if waiting for us to return
Visiting you, many breezes blow through the village in the afternoon
Walking beside you, we will return to Quang Ngai
Holding hands, the two of us will journey forever
The city lights up, and I am lost in looking at you.
- Van Lan -

2. Oh Quang Ngai
Oh Quang Ngai, where we buried dreams
Though far away, the heart yearns to return
Where the sound of waves whispers at the shore
To reminisce over a time of parting
Mount But carved with the word REMEMBER against the blue sky
The Tra River still murmurs under the midnight stars
In that distant place amidst the urban glamour
Oh Quang Ngai, let's promise to meet again.
Do you remember the Chau O clouds
Whose shadow once roamed the long days
The Binh Son pier where boats docked at the bay
Son Tinh still enchanted by the seasons of the moon
In Duc Pho nights, pity those who stay awake
For Sa Huynh, salty for four thousand years
As spring arrives, will you come to visit
Spare a little time for Co Luy
Where there's a poet dreaming under the serene moonlight...
Hồ Hoàng Tạo

3. Will You Come to Quang Ngai with Me?
Will you come to Quang Ngai with me?
My homeland, where the Tra River flows clear
The Co Luy Bridge, where the evening breeze awaits
Admiring My Khe, the beach singing memories to the shore.
Guiding you to Ba To's historical sites
The ancient battlefield with flags fluttering
Bui Hui's green plains, abundant with wild herbs
Trà Bồng, where the mist embraces Cà Đăm mountain.
Hoping one day you'll visit here with me
The village girls with sun-kissed skin
Long hair by Thac Trang, Sa Van
Songs of joy by the wine jars.
Traveling to Ly Son, admiring the nearby and distant seas
The hometown's specialties, fragrant with garlic and onions
Oh dear, I always want to ask
Will you come to Quang Ngai with me?

4. Quang Ngai, My Hometown
Come to my homeland, Quang Ngai
A land of resilience, where boys and girls stand tall
From deep mountains to village fields
A revolutionary base once echoed resoundingly
Along Tra Khuc, water flows gently and cool
A scent of fragrant flowers fills the air
The sweetness of honey overflows
Fields of the past now bustling with urban life
There lies the vast sea, refreshing and cool
Stretching along the white sandy shore
The land of Tu Nghia, full of affection
Our former stronghold now green
Stone walls erected at Da Vach
Trà Bồng's land exudes bravery and pride
The echo of solidarity resounds
A prelude to the whole South's resistance against enemies
In the era of 'Nine Years of Freedom,' fluttering proudly
The land of 'Ba To, our roots' reclaimed by the people
Pho Nhon, Hanh Tin, so close
Our Quang Ngai homeland, eternal spring.

5. Quang Ngai, My Hometown
Giữa Miền Trung mưa dầm nắng dãi
Đất Quảng Ngãi vẫn mãi tươi xinh
Một vùng nhân kiệt địa linh
Quê hương tôi đấy trung trinh nghĩa tình
Bến Tam Thương còn vương vấn đợi
Nước Sông Trà, bống gợi hương quê
Long Đầu Hý Thuỷ chiều về
Phê Vân Thiên Bút mấy bề mây sa
Triện Thiên Ấn Niêm Hà ngỏ ý
Tự bao đời thi sĩ mộng mơ
Sương giăng mây xoã lững lờ
Tiếng chuông đêm vắng đôi bờ ngân nga
Rặng Thạch Bích chiều tà soi bóng
Biển Mỹ Khê gió đọng tiếng dương
Trà Bồng cây quế ngát hương
Thu Xà đậu phụng kẹo gương ngọt lành
Dòng Sông Vệ nước thanh gió mát
Lắng phù sa mía ngọt lúa xanh
Đồng quê hoạ khéo tựa tranh
Con don, bánh tráng, ui sành, lời rao
Bên Cổ Luỹ nao nao cánh nhạn
Hoàng hôn về bảng lảng trời mây
Cô thôn, Chiếu Cói nơi nầy …
Đá xây thành cổ, dừa dương dịu dàng
Chiều Sơn Hải Sa Bàn biển nắng
Mùa gió nồm cát trắng vun mâm
Xóm Câu, Cây Mắm triều ngâm
Hình Nhân đá dựng rì rầm sóng xô
Mõm An Vĩnh nhấp nhô ghềnh đá
Cảng Sa Kỳ nước khỏa buâng khuâng
Khổng Lồ đá ướm bàn chân
Thạch Cơ Điếu Tấu buông cần khoan thai
Đảo Lý Sơn hình hài núi lửa
Tỏi mồ côi nhớ cửa Chùa Hang
Đêm trăng Thới Lới rực vàng
Hải Đăng tỏ ngọn soi đàng hùng binh
Nền văn hoá Sa Huỳnh xưa cổ
Lắng bờ nghe sóng vỗ miên man
Biển xanh, muối trắng, cát vàng
Châu Me ghềnh đá ngỡ ngàng chiều phân
Trời Minh Long mây vần Thác Trắng
Giữa Trường Sơn gió nắng hoan ca
Rừng xanh, vạt nước khảm hoa
Cá niên, rượu ché cùng ta thi cầm
Làng Teng dệt thổ cầm vang tiếng
Vọng bao đời truyền thuyết Ba Tơ
Cha ông tô thắm màu cờ
Hồn thiêng sông núi, cõi bờ hiển linh
Quảng Ngãi ơi! Người xinh xinh lắm
Ta yêu Người tình thắm duyên quê
Ngàn sau nguyên vẹn câu thề
Bến xưa vẫn đợi ta về bên ta.

6. Fond Memories
Returning to Quang Ngai after so long
To find my heart overwhelmed with longing
Missing you, the river, so wide and free
Golden fields of rice, a sight to see.
Miss the bamboo's shade along the way
Miss the coconut groves, fresh and gay
Hear the lullaby at noon's repose
Recall the sweetness on lips that rose.
In dreams, I see you, oh my dear
Quang Ngai, your memory, so near
Watercolors of you, along the lane
In the restless night, calling your name.

When you return to Quang Ngai, my love
Remember, here, someone dreams of you, thereof.

7. My Homeland Quang Ngai
Will you come to Quang Ngai with me, my love?
To the riverside where promises are wove
Our eyes meet, your shy smile, so pure
In our shared words, our love shall endure
Come here and listen to the Trà River's song
A fond call from parents, lasting and strong
Feel the breeze, the hammock sways with ease
Whispering gently, secrets among the trees
Come back, my dear, our land is still humble
But our love remains, forever it'll mumble
Threads of pure heart, waiting for new light
In our beloved haven, by the waiting site
Nights blur like dreams, waking dreams it seems
Feel the heartache, with hope it teems
You'll find it filled with love, no matter the flight
Even afar, memories of here, shining bright
My homeland, Quang Ngai, so sincere
Here, taste the flavors, our roots so clear
Simple dishes, yet uniquely divine
Fresh fish stew, Trà River's brine
Once tasted, unforgettable it'll be
Quang Ngai's hospitality, for all to see
Once you've been, you'll never want to part
Come back, my love, waiting with all my heart
Fading blush, lips once cherry-bright
Eyes weary, awaiting the beloved's sight
And hold onto those promises, never to forget
Longing for this love, by the waiting jetty set.

8. Visiting Quang Ngai
Together, we journey to Quang Ngai,
Where Trà River's edge meets the horizon,
Mộ Đức's new rice fields embrace us,
As twilight blankets Thiên Ấn's cloud-kissed sky.
Trà Giang River near Thiên Ấn whispers tales,
Carving memories of Niêm Hà, heaven's gift,
Silently drifting to Đại's gentle embrace,
Cô Lũy's shores paint our dreams.
Long Đầu Hý Thủy mirrors the evening,
Echoing ancient stories that stir the heart,
Hà Nhai Vãn Độ veiled in mist and smoke,
A waiting boat hastens across the river.
Gazing upon Thiên Bút's deep azure,
Southern sky's quill etches golden clouds,
Thousands of years' ancient tales still linger,
La Hà Thạch Trận's footprints endure.
Thạch Bích Tà Dương, the sun's caress,
Leaves fall, signaling autumn's arrival,
Mountain paths draped in misty veils,
Poetic trails lead back to nesting cranes.
Vân Phong Túc Vũ, clouds and wind,
Guide water to springs of enchanting dreams,
Vu Sơn's verdant peak, a grassy hue,
Return to reunite, desires fulfilled.
Liên Chiểu's lotus pond, a joyful reunion,
Liên Trì Dục Nguyệt greets the moonlit night,
A boat glides silently by the moonlit shore,
Carrying pink lotuses to dreamy banks.
An Hải Sa Bàn on sandy shores,
Whispers of pearls in departing winds,
Who left behind this golden sand tray,
For eternity, alone, under the moon?
Thạch Ky Điếu Tẩu, a solitary figure,
White clouds stretch across the horizon,
We pause by the sea's edge,
Our journey's end welcomes destiny's thread.
Twelve beautiful scenes of Quang Ngai,
Dressing mountains and rivers in human love,
Together, we journey to Quang Ngai,
In the joy of a beautiful land and our love.

9. Return to Quang Ngai
Quang Ngai silently weaves dreams for us,
Our love quietly nurtures through the long nights,
Trà River whispers with willow's grace,
Ấn Peak dreams, weaving tomorrow's bond.
Release those words of love, drifting with memories,
Seeking countless promises, tenderly pinned,
Hear the vibrant hopes resound,
Contentment peacefully held, never to fade.

10. Quang Ngai Historical Sites
Invite you to visit my hometown, Quang Ngai,
Where the famous land of our nation lies.
See the structures beside Chau Sa ancient citadel,
Standing firm through the test of time.
Thien An Mountain, the tombstone of Huynh Thuc Khang,
Famous names echo through the hills.
The Trà River mixes its fragrant aroma,
Kings and lords leave ancient inscriptions.
The scent of garlic warms weary feet,
Ly Son Island amidst the wild sky and earth.
The numerous islands blur on the horizon,
Remnants of ancient volcanic ranges.
The Sa Huynh culture welcomes all,
With coffins buried thousands of years.
Many artifacts rest beneath the tombs,
The unique features of ancient Quang Ngai residents,
Dang Thuy Tram's diary left behind...
The sad hospital recalls the days of dreams...
The lingering fragrance intertwines with reverence,
Minutes of remembrance for the heroic doctors.
The painful traces of Son My village (1),
The cries echo as the earth trembles.
The blood of the people flows like a river,
A memorial monument still moist with tears.
The massacre, Phuoc Binh - Dien Nien untold (2),
Invaders caused much grief and pain.
Do you hear news of the victory at Vạn Tường (3)?
New milestones, the early days of resistance.
Quang Ngai's soil preserves many events,
Back to Ba To to visit the guerrillas,
Who sacrificed much to preserve and defend.
The spirit of the nation flies the flag proudly,
Copy my poem, sent with care,
Set it to melodies of lullabies,
Our love like butterflies, wandering,
Fluttering freely across the nation.
Thien Ly
