1. Ford Ranger
In the ranking of the top 10 best-selling vehicles in Vietnam over the past decade, the Ford Ranger holds the 5th spot, with 64,764 units sold, and is the only pickup truck in this list. It triumphed over strong competitors like the Nissan Navara, Toyota Hilux, Chevrolet Colorado, Mazda BT-50, and Mitsubishi Triton, establishing itself as the dominant pickup truck in Vietnam.
The Ford Ranger offers the widest range of versions in its segment, with a premium interior that competes with passenger vehicles in its price range. Ford Vietnam currently sells 8 official versions, including: the 2WD manual Ranger XL, 1WD manual XLS MT, 1WD automatic XLS AT, 2WD manual Ranger XLT, premium 2WD automatic Wildtrak 2.0L (1WD and 2WD), the 2WD automatic high-end Ranger Wildtrak 2.0L Bi-Turbo, and the high-performance Ford Ranger Raptor 2.0L 4x4 AT. The 2021 model marks a revolution in design and technology.
As of October 2021, 13,359 Ford Rangers have been sold.


2. Kia Seltos
The South Korean automaker introduced its second wave in Vietnam, with the 2021 Kia Seltos being one of the first models to feature its new-generation design philosophy. Let's take a closer look at the improvements made to this model in its latest version.
Equipped with a 1.6L twin-turbocharged petrol engine that delivers a maximum output of 175 horsepower, the Kia Seltos offers one of the most powerful configurations in its class, earning the title of the strongest SUV in India. It comes with three transmission options: a 6-speed automatic, a 7-speed automatic, and a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Additionally, there are three driving modes—Normal, Eco, and Sport—allowing drivers to easily adjust the vehicle's performance to suit various road conditions, reflecting the brand's focus on offering a variety of choices to meet individual customer needs.
As of October 2021, 11,815 units of the Kia Seltos have been sold.


3. Toyota Corolla Cross
With a growing preference for SUVs and crossovers, many automakers have shifted their focus to these segments. Toyota, a leading global brand, is no exception. Following the launch of the 2021 Yaris Cross, the Toyota Corolla Cross, a C-segment crossover/SUV, was officially introduced in August 2020.
Although the Corolla Cross is based on the Toyota Altis sedan, its exterior design bears no resemblance to the C-segment sedan. Built on the TNGA-C platform, similar to the Corolla and C-HR, the 2021 Corolla Cross features a modern and striking design with a wide trapezoidal grille, dual trapezoid lower front bumper, tear-drop headlights, stylish air vents, and a muscular hood. The Corolla Cross is equipped with a CVT transmission for smooth acceleration and quiet operation, while the 2ZR-FE engine with DOHC, Dual VVT-i, and ACIS technologies ensures smooth performance, quick acceleration, and fuel efficiency.
As of October 2021, a total of 10,599 Toyota Corolla Cross units have been sold.


4. Mitsubishi Xpander
The Japanese automaker has introduced a light facelift of the Xpander for the Vietnamese market, based on the locally assembled AT version. The key upgrades focus on enhancing driver-oriented features, such as a 360-degree camera, which is unique to the Xpander in its segment, and rear parking sensors to improve obstacle detection.
For aesthetics, the vehicle now comes with a red-and-black sport decal, celebrating the milestone of 50,000 Xpander units reaching Vietnamese customers. Despite the added features, the price of the new Xpander remains at 630 million VND. The MT, AT imported models, and Xpander Cross do not receive these upgrades.
Since its introduction to the Vietnamese market, the Xpander has become the best-selling model in its category and a significant success for Mitsubishi. Consistently ranking among the top sellers, as of October 2021, a total of 10,335 Xpander units have been sold.


5. Hyundai Grand i10
The Hyundai i10, a popular model in the A-segment, has garnered impressive sales in Vietnam. Its compact exterior is paired with a lively, modern, and mature interior design, making it both stylish and functional. The 2021 Hyundai i10 makes a significant mark in the A-segment, offering a complete redesign. The new Grand i10 is not only larger and more spacious, but it also enhances safety features and offers smarter, more advanced technology.
One of the first cars to offer seamless smartphone connectivity, the Hyundai Grand i10 also integrates well with the infotainment system, which can be controlled via steering wheel buttons. Additionally, the 2021 model supports voice commands to enhance the user experience and fully leverage smartphone connectivity.
By October 2021, a total of 9,309 Hyundai Grand i10 units had been sold.


6. Hyundai Santa Fe
The Hyundai Santa Fe was first introduced globally in 2002 and quickly became a success in the United States and many other countries around the world. Now in its fourth generation, which debuted in 2018, the model received a significant facelift in June 2020, enhancing its exterior design. In Vietnam, the Hyundai Santa Fe has earned its place as the 'king' of the 7-seat SUV segment, consistently ranking in the top 10 best-selling vehicles each month. The updated 4.5 version of the model was launched in Vietnam in May, further boosting its competitive edge and solidifying its position as the leader in the market.
The 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe is available in 6 variants, offering both gasoline and diesel engine options. Prices for the gasoline models range from 1.03 billion VND to 1.24 billion VND, while the diesel versions are priced between 1.13 billion VND and 1.34 billion VND.
As of October 2021, a total of 8,675 Hyundai Santa Fe units had been sold in Vietnam.


7. Kia Cerato
The Kia Cerato is a popular C-segment sedan favored by many young families with a decent budget, thanks to its attractive design, spacious interior, and high level of comfort. One of the reasons for its popularity is the competitive pricing of the 2021 Kia Cerato, making it an excellent value proposition. This model consistently performs well in terms of sales.
Distributed by Thaco in Vietnam, the Kia Cerato is one of the standout Korean vehicles in the market, known for offering a wide array of family-friendly features. It comes in four variants with two engine options, meeting the diverse needs of customers. Despite its affordable price, the Kia Cerato boasts a modern, stylish design, featuring a sharp and sporty look with symmetrical window detailing and elements that echo BMW models. The car's striking 17-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels further enhance its appeal.
As of October 2021, a total of 7,840 Kia Cerato units had been sold in Vietnam.


8. Vinfast Fadil
When talking about Vinfast, every car enthusiast is sure to recognize this name. It's the first Vietnamese car brand, supported and manufactured by the Vingroup conglomerate. The Vinfast Fadil, launched in November 2018, marked the brand's first ever 'Made in Vietnam' car, quickly becoming popular among consumers and receiving strong positive feedback.
The Fadil is a compact, dynamic vehicle, designed to meet the needs of a wide range of drivers. Especially in Vietnam, where narrow streets and frequent traffic jams are common, its compact design and efficient performance make it ideal for urban driving.
Although the Vinfast Fadil has Vietnamese origins, its design reflects a modern European style. As of October 2021, a total of 19,940 units of the Vinfast Fadil have been sold.


9. Hyundai Accent
The Hyundai Accent is a trailblazer in its segment, featuring a smart trunk and an 8-inch touchscreen that integrates with a navigation system specifically designed for the Vietnamese market, along with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Accent’s design strikes a perfect balance between sporty and elegant, offering impressive performance and a strikingly attractive appearance.
The car is equipped with a new 6-speed automatic transmission that combines power and fuel efficiency seamlessly. The optimized gear ratio offers powerful acceleration, smooth gear shifts, and fuel efficiency. The 6-speed manual transmission option also ensures smooth gear transitions while maximizing fuel savings and offering easy control for the driver.
As of October 2021, a total of 16,382 Hyundai Accent units have been sold.


10. Toyota Vios
The Toyota Vios is a sales champion, with no other model coming close to matching its monthly and annual sales figures. The upgraded 2021 Toyota Vios was officially launched on February 23, 2021, featuring significant improvements to both its exterior and interior. Notably, the sportier version of the Vios was introduced for the first time in Vietnam. These updates are expected to further elevate the Vios in the B-segment sedan market and the overall automotive market in Vietnam.
The vehicle continues to be powered by a 1.5-liter, naturally aspirated Dual VVT-i engine that delivers a maximum output of 107 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. It comes with either a CVT transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission, with front-wheel drive. All variants come equipped with safety features such as an emergency brake signal system (EBS) on the Vios GR-S, G & E CVT, automatic door locking based on speed on the Vios G, guide lights, automatic headlight on/off, and an engine immobilizer system on the Vios E CVT. The Vios E MT also offers rear parking sensors to assist the driver when reversing in tight spaces.
As of October 2021, the total number of Toyota Vios units sold stands at 14,403.
