How to use Sony Vegas Pro software
Vegas Pro is a versatile video editing and creation software, providing you with all the tools and features to make your video creation process simple and quick. Here is a basic guide on how to use Sony Vegas Pro:
1. Import Video
- To get started, click on File located at the top left corner of the screen and select Import from the appearing menu.
- In the next menu, choose Media.
2. Using the Timeline
Sony Vegas Pro's window contains a Timeline where all the audio and video files you may want to further edit are located. Audio clips will contain music effects and other sounds, while video clips will include videos, images, and text. There's also an Add video track option that you can use to create additional Timeline space as needed. You can use the mouse scroll wheel to zoom in and out of the Timeline, position your cursor where you want to make a split, and click Edit > Split or press the S key to cut the video in half.
To remove the audio track from the video, right-click on the video, go to Group, and select Remove from.

Step 3: Start Blurring
Right-click on the video and select Event Pan/Crop, then follow these steps:
- Upon selecting the option, you'll see the Event FX Windows dialog. You'll see the video scenes cropped and small rectangular icons to define the boundaries of the object to be blurred.
- Next, select the Anchor Creation Tool, resembling a pen. This tool helps you crop the image and adjust the tangent angles to fit the details of the image. However, to blur and create a mask, select Mask from the pop-up window. Under the Mask's subheading, you'll see a request to Apply to FX. Click YES.
- Next, using these rectangles and anchor points, you create a boundary around the object you want to blur. Draw it in any shape like a circle, ellipse, or rectangle. The object will then be highlighted, and the rest of the image may darken a bit.
- Now, you'll find various tabs on the Timeline like Transitions, Explorer, Media Generators, Project Media, and more. Navigate to the FX tab of the video and find the Pixelate or Gaussian Blur effect. When clicked, it will display presets on the right describing the blur intensity. Choose the option you want and drag it onto the clip.
- Even if you select from presets, you can adjust the blur effect vertically and horizontally. You can drag or enter numbers into the dialog box.
- The blurring process is complete. You can preview the effect by pressing the Spacebar on the keyboard.
If the object you want to blur is moving, you need to adjust the settings to ensure the blur effect follows the object's motion by going to Event Pan/Crop and changing the Anchor Creation Tool to Normal Editing Tool.
5. How to Merge Clips into One Video
If you want to merge multiple clips into a single video, first, you need to remove the gap between the clips by clicking on the whitespace and pressing the Delete key. Then proceed to merge the clips in two ways:
