1. Guyana - 542 USD
Located between Venezuela, Suriname, and the northern edge of Brazil, Guyana may not grab much attention, but it definitely should. It is home to one of the largest untouched tropical rainforests in the world, with over 85% of the country covered by forests. The wildlife includes anteaters, giant river otters, pumas, howler monkeys, and much more.
On top of that, there are stunning waterfalls, nearly 900 species of birds, and a rich cultural mix influenced by Indigenous, African, and East Asian heritage, along with a strong focus on sustainable development. These make Guyana an amazing destination in South America. International visitors can enter Guyana with proof of vaccination and a negative test result within 72 hours. The average round-trip flight cost is 542 USD.

2. Singapore - 489 USD
Singapore reopened to vaccinated travelers without quarantine in October 2021, and with one of the highest vaccination rates (96% of eligible individuals), it remains an appealing destination with relatively low travel risks. Additionally, several new attractions have been added to the list, including a 12,000-foot artificial wetland at ABC Waters in Jurong Lake and new luxury villas at the Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa.
Singapore Airlines is the flagship carrier of Singapore. Renowned as one of the world’s most admired airlines, it consistently wins top honors in global aviation and travel industry awards, including Travel & Leisure's Best International Airline for 22 years in a row and Skytrax's Best Airline in Asia. Direct flights are available from NYC, SF, and LA to Singapore’s award-winning Changi Airport (SIN). The average round-trip flight price is 489 USD.

3. Venice, Italy - 473 USD
Italy reopened its borders to tourists in early 2021, allowing foreign travelers to enter with proof of a negative test result and vaccination or recovery. While Venice has always been one of the most famous destinations in the country, tourism levels have not yet fully rebounded, meaning visitors in 2022 may experience one of the world's most visited cities without the usual crowds.
As an added bonus, the Venice Biennale, held every two years, is set to run from April to November. This international contemporary art exhibition gathers artists from around the globe for performances throughout the city. The average round-trip flight to Italy costs 473 USD. This is considered quite affordable for travel to a European country. If possible, book your flight to Venice, Italy, for a memorable visit!

4. Greenland - 440 USD
Since Icelandair acquired Air Ireland in 2021, travelers can now book a single ticket from the US to Greenland (with a stopover in Reykjavik), making it easier to visit Greenland. To complete the journey, you'll need to travel from Reykjavik International Airport (KEF) to Reykjavik city airport, about 45 minutes away. For this reason, we still recommend booking two separate tickets to avoid any delays (and so you can spend a day or two in Iceland).
However, if you can get a flight to Iceland for under $400 and pair it with a good deal from there to Greenland (around $500 round-trip), you can visit the world's largest island for under a thousand dollars, which is a great deal for any traveler. Currently, travel to Greenland is not recommended. Fully vaccinated foreign citizens are allowed entry to Iceland with a negative test result. The average round-trip flight to Iceland costs 440 USD.

5. Dominica - 360 USD
Earlier this year, airlines launched their first direct flights to Dominica, making travel to this underrated Caribbean island, nestled between Guadeloupe and Martinique, much easier. Don’t confuse it with the Dominican Republic—Dominica is a rugged, entirely natural island. It’s the only place on Earth where you can see sperm whales year-round, with volcanic sand beaches, 9 active volcanoes, and 18 named waterfalls, all packed into an island about half the size of Los Angeles.
Fully vaccinated travelers are welcomed in Dominica with a negative Covid test. A second test is required upon arrival, with a fee of approximately 37 USD. The average round-trip flight to Dominica costs 360 USD. A visit to this beautiful island, whether for a relaxing getaway or a sightseeing adventure, is a fantastic choice. With such an affordable flight price, Dominica is one of the cheapest destinations to fly to in the world!

6. Alberta, Canada - 259 USD
Alberta is a renowned destination, famous for the stunning landscapes found in Banff National Park and Jasper. In the summer, it hosts the iconic Calgary Stampede, and any time of the year, visitors can gaze at the stars in Jasper’s second-largest Dark Sky Preserve in the world. The province also boasts new attractions, including the 30,000-square-foot Indigenous Experience, a rich exhibit that delves into the history and culture of the First Nations.
At the Fairmont Banff Springs, you can dine in the 360° Dome, a glass snow tent with breathtaking views of the mountains. Fully vaccinated international travelers can enter Canada with proof of a negative test result. Visitors aged 12 and older must also be fully vaccinated to travel by plane or train within Canada. 7. Pacific Northwest - 105 USD
Although visiting New Zealand might still be challenging in 2022, the Pacific Northwest is the next best thing, offering stunning coastlines, mystical rainforests, snow-capped mountains, seafood straight from the boats, and world-class wineries.
Moreover, you can plan your trip without having to learn how to drive on the left side of the road. It's a win all around. Seattle (SEA) and Portland (PDX) are the largest airports in the Pacific Northwest, but there are several smaller airports with frequent deals, including Bend, Medford, Spokane, Bellingham, and Eugene. The average round-trip flight to the region costs 105 USD.

8. Oman - 699 USD
Oman is known as the Arabian Jewel and the Switzerland of the Middle East. If that doesn't catch your attention, perhaps the vast desert landscapes, breathtaking beaches, and the green mountain ranges will. Unlike its more luxurious neighbors, Dubai and Doha, Muscat (Oman's capital and largest city) feels much humbler, with no skyscrapers in sight. However, what it lacks in flashy architecture, it more than makes up for in its rich history, diverse scenery, and the famously friendly locals.
As an added perk, Oman Air is exploring the possibility of direct flights to the United States in 2022, which could make the journey cheaper and quicker for travelers wishing to visit from the US. Fully vaccinated international travelers are allowed entry to Oman with proof of a negative Covid test taken within 96 hours and evidence of Covid insurance coverage. Most flights to Oman will pass through Europe, Dubai, or Doha. The average round-trip flight to Oman costs 699 USD.

9. Ghana - 662 USD
Direct flights to Accra were introduced in the spring of 2021, opening up new routes with a layover to Ghana from various airports across the country at unprecedented low prices. The ability to travel to West Africa from smaller airports without stopping in Europe is both exciting and cost-effective. Additionally, Ghana has invested significantly in upgrading its infrastructure for the post-pandemic economic recovery, making airfares even more attractive.
Airlines have increased the frequency of flights to Accra, now offering daily services (up from three times per week) starting in May, which is expected to further lower prices and increase frequent deals. Ghana is open to international visitors with proof of a negative Covid test. An additional test is required upon arrival, with a fee of 150 USD. Flights to Ghana land in Accra (ACC). The average round-trip flight costs 662 USD.

Additionally, Vietnam Airlines launched its first direct flights between the U.S. and Vietnam, connecting San Francisco with Ho Chi Minh City.
