3. How to Make Different Types of Toners
Green Tea + Cucumber Toner:
- 50ml green tea (can use fresh or dried tea, but if using dried tea, dilute it to avoid skin discoloration)
- 50ml cucumber juice
- 2 vitamin E capsules
- 3 drops lavender essential oil
Apple Cider Vinegar Toner:
- 50ml apple cider vinegar, available at supermarkets
- 150ml distilled water (boiled or spring water is fine)
Apple Cider Vinegar + Green Tea Toner: Mix green tea and apple cider vinegar in a 1:1 ratio
Basic Rose Water Toner:
- 125ml distilled water or spring water
- 75g dried rose petals (the kind sold for making tea, or 150g fresh rose petals; make sure to soak fresh petals in salted water beforehand)
- Sanitize the pot with 90% alcohol to extend the toner’s shelf life. Add rose petals and water into the pot, cover, and simmer on low heat for about 30 minutes. Be sure to keep the lid on to preserve the essential oils.
If you don’t like rose water, you can substitute with other flowers like lavender or chamomile.
Note: Always cleanse your face with a facial cleanser to remove dirt before using toner for better results.

4. Hair Care with Beer + Apple Cider Vinegar
Shampoo for Shiny, Smooth Hair and Dandruff Treatment:
- Mix 1 cup of apple cider vinegar with 1 cup of water. Apply evenly to your hair, gently massage for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water. This simple treatment leaves your hair feeling soft and fresh. After drying, you'll notice a shiny texture that is much different from regular shampoo. This method is perfect for those with oily hair or greasy buildup.
Promote Hair Growth and Reduce Hair Loss:
- Mix 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with 1 tablespoon of royal jelly. Apply directly to the scalp, focusing on areas where hair falls out most. Leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse with warm water. Repeat 3 times a week for optimal results. Alternatively, you can mix beer and apple cider vinegar in a 1:1 ratio if royal jelly isn't available.
Note: You may notice a strong vinegar smell during the treatment, but it will dissipate once your hair dries. For quicker hair growth, try massaging coconut oil into your scalp along with the vinegar treatment.

5. Carrot Oil for Skin Care and Carrot Face Mask
Carrot oil is rich in antioxidants that help prevent and repair skin damage caused by the sun, smoke, and poor nutrition. It contains nutrients such as beta-carotene, vitamins A and E, and provitamin A, making it perfect for nourishing dry or aging skin, treating dark spots, freckles, and even reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Carrot oil also has a natural SPF of 38-40, so it can be used as a sunscreen.
There are two methods to make carrot oil: hot and cold. Here's how you can do it:
Hot Method:
- Faster but may lose some nutrients compared to the cold method.
- Slice the carrots thinly into strips.
- Simmer the carrots with olive oil or coconut oil of your choice until the oil turns orange from the carrots. Turn off the heat and keep the pot covered.
- Strain the carrot pieces and store the oil in a dark bottle to use as a skin serum.
Cold Method:
- Slower but preserves more nutrients.
- Slice the carrots into strips.
- Dry the slices.
- Soak them in a dark bottle with olive oil or coconut oil for 2 weeks, shaking the bottle daily.
- After 2 weeks, use the oil as a skin serum.
Carrot Face Mask:
- Wash and boil the carrots until soft.
- Peel and mash the carrots.
- Mix with 1/2 teaspoon of honey and 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil.
- If you have dry skin, add 8 drops of lemon juice. For oily skin, add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice.
- Mix well until smooth, then apply to your face for 15 minutes, and rinse with warm water.
Note: If the mixture is too thick, you can add more olive oil. Test the mixture on a small area of skin first to ensure it suits your skin type.

- 150g sugar

- 15ml coconut oil
- 15ml olive oil
- 10-20 drops of essential oil (optional)
Instructions:
- Place the butters in a bowl and melt them using a double boiler (ensure no steam enters the bowl), then mix in the oils.
- Allow the mixture to cool slightly, then add the essential oil of your choice until you achieve your desired fragrance. Stir in the sugar until fully combined.
- Pour the mixture into molds of your choice or an ice cube tray to form candy-like scrub cubes.
- Let the mixture set in a dry, cool place. After 24 hours, remove the scrub cubes from the molds and store them in an airtight jar for future use.
How to Use: After wetting your skin, rub the scrub cube over your body to exfoliate dead skin cells. Rinse with water to remove the sugar and dead skin, then pat dry with a clean towel.
