2. Don't hog the machine if you're not working out
Many people have the habit of lounging on the workout machine. They text, play with their phones, check emails, take selfies...some even take a nice nap on the machine. Meanwhile, others stand by waiting so as not to disturb.
Therefore, when others are courteous to you, be courteous back by avoiding sitting on the machine when not in use. And remember, the gym is a place to build health, not a private space for the inconsiderate.

3. Keep Body Odor in Check
Body odor is a delicate issue, and not everyone can fully understand their own body odor. Therefore, when in crowded places, it's assumed that not everyone will smell your body odor, similar to how you can sense discomfort around you at the gym.
That's why, when in crowded places, it's a good habit to apply deodorant before working out. Remember, don't confuse perfume with deodorant, as they serve different functions. Never apply perfume when working out, as it will make your body odor even more unpleasant.

4. Behave Sensitively in Public Spaces
One thing you shouldn't do at the gym or any other public place is to exhibit sensitive behavior. If you have sensitive behavior, please move to the restroom or some other private place to avoid disturbing others who are exercising.

5. Avoid Phone Conversations and Loud Speaker
One of the most annoying things at the gym is people having lengthy and noisy phone conversations while working out. Other irritating types include those who enjoy playing loud music to the extent that others can hear it even through their own headphones. This can make everyone around feel like they're in a market or a zoo instead.

6. Return Equipment to Its Proper Place
Show your courtesy to fellow gym-goers by returning equipment to its designated spot. If you leave equipment scattered around the room, others won't be able to find it. Or if left lying around on the floor, you may cause others to trip or, worse, fall and get injured. Returning equipment to its proper place is not just a matter of courtesy, it's also a gym rule.

7. Avoid Excessive Use of a Single Machine
The workout machines at the gym are communal equipment meant for everyone's use, not just yours unless you buy one and keep it in your own home. Let's share the machines with others. Don't hog a machine for more than 2 hours. This time frame can be shortened if you notice there are too many people waiting behind you. It's courteous and considerate to switch machines regularly to accommodate a variety of exercises as well as to be respectful and understanding.

8. Don't Join Late Workout Classes
Anywhere you go, don't be late, even to the gym. It's not a big deal if it's a group exercise class or a personal training session. But if it's a crowded class, your late arrival will distract the instructor and other class members. If you happen to be late, try to enter the class quickly and quietly to avoid disrupting the entire class.

9. Avoid Unnecessary Exposure in Shared Bathrooms
Many people have the habit of walking around naked and freely in shared bathrooms. Some even shave for hours, leaving everything covered in foam and hair. Even if you don't mind being seen naked, remember that others may feel uncomfortable around a naked or partially dressed person in public.
So, respect their time and privacy. Remember that the gym locker room is not your personal bathroom, and make sure you clean up after yourself immediately.

10. Avoid Pressuring Others While Working Out
While it's impolite for someone to hog a particular piece of equipment for too long, standing in front of them urging or giving them unpleasant looks and pressure is equally impolite. They might even get injured if pressured too much. So, stay calm, give them space, and use another machine. Let them be rude on their own, don't stoop to their level.
