1. Evidence of Love for Homeland and Country #1
As Ê-ren-bua once said: love for home, love for the village, becomes love for the motherland. It is from these simple, humble things that our love for the country is enriched. The love for the homeland has been cherished since ancient times, reflected in folk verses as a mirror of the nation's soul, embodying pride and reverence for the beauty of the land and its scenery. In medieval poetry, patriotism is closely linked to the concept of serving the country, so in poems, expressing sentiments only reveals the hearts of the literati who desire to revolve the land, elevate the nation's culture, and this is the highest expression of righteousness at that time. In modern literature, romantic patriotism means loving ideals, loving the revolution, loving the Party. The joyful excitement of revolutionary soldiers when enlightened by the Party's revolutionary light in 'Since Then' is profound evidence of this:
'Since then, within me, summer sunshine bursts forth
The sun of truth shines through my heart
My soul is a garden of flowers and leaves
Rich in fragrance and filled with the sound of birds'

Does anyone remember how resilient our nation was during those ancient times of war? Despite defeats, heartaches, exhaustion, and discouragement, we still rose, despite everything, continuing to wield guns, spears, and swords, because the flame of love for our homeland and country was burning brightly within us. It was that love that helped us achieve resounding victories globally, allowing a small nation to triumph over even the military and economic superpowers of that era...
Love for the homeland, the country shapes a noble character. Loving the homeland, loving the country means we cherish what surrounds us, love the simple things that contribute to grand sentiments. Someone who loves the place they were born, loves the place that has given them peace and happiness, is someone who lives with dignity, who will be cherished by others. But someone who lives indifferently to their homeland will soon be alienated, condemned, hated, and abandoned.

We love our country when students study Vietnamese history:
“Our people must know our history
To reinforce the roots of our Vietnamese homeland.”
We embrace the modern civilization of other countries worldwide with the principle of “integration without assimilation.”
In reality, many young people think that they have to do something 'grand' for the Fatherland to show patriotism. But true patriotism doesn’t need to be expressed in every word or daily story; it resides in silent, seemingly ordinary actions. There are volunteers who go to work in the most remote forests and mountains right after graduation. There are youths devoted to traditional rowing while the younger generation is buzzing with 'Pop,' 'Rock.' There are young people braving rain and shine every day, tirelessly cleaning the streets... They all embody a very Vietnamese spirit - dedication, sacrifice without seeking praise or reward. On National Day or President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, every household hangs the national flag adorned with flowers.
On social media platforms, young people show patriotism by changing their profile pictures to the national flag, images of Uncle Ho, or posting messages expressing their feelings to celebrate the country's major holidays.

Love for one's homeland and country, in other words, is the hatred towards invaders when the nation is invaded, when the motherland faces threats. In “The Tale of the Bachelor', Tran Quoc Tuan expressed deep-seated hatred towards the enemy when witnessing the nation being trampled under the enemy's boots: “I often forget to eat, beat my pillow at midnight, my heart hurts as if cut, tears full of resentment have not yet shed flesh, skinned the enemy, swallowed their liver and drank their blood.” It is enough to see that love for one's homeland and country has long been a powerful weapon, an underground wave that drowns traitors and invaders. Love for the country is also pride, national pride in front of the landscapes, the beauty of mountains and rivers, it is also the desire to preserve and conserve the cultural identity of the nation.

5. Evidence of Love for Homeland and Country #4
Today, the love for the country encompasses more diverse aspects as the nation is comprehensively integrating with the world. In the era of industrialization and modernization, the advancement in the economic front, enriching the country, is considered the key task of the youth. Nowadays, across the nation, there has emerged a plethora of examples of youth overcoming difficulties and rising up, contributing to a 'strong nation'. Individuals like Nguyen Chien Sang - a young man collecting recyclables who became a millionaire, or Nguyen Van Sy - enriching his hometown with a homemade power generator... are ideal images for youth to study and emulate. As long as each of our youth dares to dream and dare to act, surely in the future there will be more Nguyen Chien Sangs or Nguyen Van Sys.

Around 800 12th-grade students from Le Quy Don High School (Bien Hoa City - Dong Nai Province) gathered to assemble the map of Vietnam, including both the Spratly and Paracel Islands, during a special flag-raising ceremony held on the morning of May 12, 2014. In this sacred moment, all students placed their hands on their left chests and resoundingly sang the national anthem. This meaningful action by the students of Le Quy Don High School aimed to voice opposition to China's illegal placement of oil rigs in Vietnamese waters. The moving images stirred the emotions of many viewers, echoing the voice for sovereignty over the homeland's islands, love for the country, and ethnic pride.

7. Evidence of Patriotism for the Homeland #6
Since 2011, the Youth Newspaper has launched the movement 'Contributing Bricks to Build the Spratly Islands', calling on people nationwide to join hands in contributing effort to construct our homeland's islands. This is a meaningful and practical program, awakening patriotism and a sense of responsibility in every individual.

Not only that, loving the homeland is also loving the beautiful natural scenery, the majestic mountains, and the clear blue water:
“The road to Nghệ is winding around
The green mountains and blue water like a painting”
The image of Vietnam has never been more beautiful. The mountains and hills create a magnificent and poetic landscape, full of charm and richness. Through folk verses, we also express pride and love for our beautiful and prosperous country.
Whenever the country faces the threat of invasion, that sentiment becomes even more evident and powerful than ever. When the Yuan-Mongol invaders threatened our land, during the Dien Hong conference, when King Tran asked whether to make peace or fight, all the elders unanimously agreed: to fight.

Poems intertwined with personal voices still harbor a discreet affection, expressed through love for people, landscapes, and the homeland. The image of the homeland emerges in poems, providing unique perceptions yet resonating with readers of all generations. A place named Vinh village etches into memory, bonding affection with Hue in “Here in Vinh Village” by Han Mac Tu, making us love the innocence under the jackfruit trees, the surrealism by the river with the moon, the misty image of the ancient capital land. The space of autumn afternoons brings lovers together in “Poetic Affinity,” allowing us to feel the harmonious blend of nature enveloping trees, birds, on small paths, under the afternoon sun, the blue sky, and the wistfulness with “the heron in the field hesitating.” We are amazed to discover the joys and sorrows of people embedded within the autumnal ambiance in “Here Comes Autumn,” with a cluster of willows, a hue of “fading dream fabric woven with golden leaves,” “the moon drifting absentmindedly,” familiar yet strange autumnal images depicted through the intoxicated soul of Xuân Diệu's poetry. The homeland also appears through the cosmic-scale melancholy of the poet Huy Can, standing on the homeland facing the “Trang River” with the “hundred paths of sorrow” spreading across the waves, the boat, the branches, the sails, “the long river and wide sky, the lonely shore,” weaving into the “nostalgic homeland heart – even without the twilight smoke, still yearning for home,” evoking the love for the country’s landscapes. The homeland also exudes simplicity in the Spring Afternoon by Anh Thơ, the Vietnamese countryside charmingly depicted amidst the green grass, spring rain, sturdy cattle, and rosy cheeks... through the pure emotions of a young girl's soul. All of those poems, depicting people, landscapes, villages... converge at one point: the discreet love for the country.

10. Evidence of Patriotism for the Homeland #10
Everyone has roots, and along with that comes the responsibility to build this nation. There are countless shining examples of patriotism demonstrated by bringing glory to the Motherland on international stages in all fields, such as Dinh Thi Huong Thao who excellently won the Gold Medal in International Physics, or the U23 Vietnam football team who valiantly secured the Runner-up position in the AFC U23 Championship, and many many other exemplary figures. They are all individuals who have glorified their homeland, carrying the duty and mission of the nation to not disappoint the Motherland, bringing glory to their own country. A.Bogomolet once said: “Life is not everything. It is necessary to know how to live a life not for oneself, but for everyone, for the Motherland.”
