9. Le Van Tam Park
Le Van Tam Park is located in Da Kao Ward, District 1, the center of Ho Chi Minh City. It is a spacious green garden with various children's play areas, attracting many urban residents for strolls, sports exercises, and weekend outings. The park is named after a revolutionary teenage hero who sacrificed himself, immolating to detonate the enemy's ammunition depot during the Indochina War in Vietnam.
Formerly, Le Van Tam Park was a cemetery built by the French, named Western Sacred Land (later changed to Mac Dinh Chi), where French officers, soldiers, and many famous high-ranking politicians were buried. Later, the cemetery was relocated, and the area was transformed into Le Van Tam Park.
Similar to other parks, within the premises of Le Van Tam Park is a vast, cool green space. You will feel the tranquility, comfort, and freshness of the surroundings. 10. Hoang Van Thu Park
Hoang Van Thu Park is known as the 'Oasis' in the heart of Saigon for its tranquility and coolness, surrounded by ancient trees casting shade all year round. The park covers an area of up to 10.6 hectares. Before 1975, this area served as the heliport for the wartime hospital of the US. After 1975, this area came under the management of Military Zone 7. In 1989, Hoang Van Thu Park was officially established under the management and direction of Tan Binh District People's Committee.
This place is also chosen as a venue for recreational activities of Saigon's youth.
